Much like most JAV stars wanted to made it as idols, but couldn't cut it, so they turn to VTubing instead. High self-harm/suicide attempt rates in both.Very few of them actually have healthy lives. The ones that do are just bored housewives with nothing to do, so they get company online and occupy their free time and maybe earn some extra money on the side.
