The response of the greater Hololive community to the Holostars situation has been incredibly disappointing. The amount of people chomping at the bit to defend the multimillion (maybe billion?) dollar company is ridiculous.I don't think the Hololive talents are responsible for this failure, don't get me wrong, though I do think that some of the talent's interactions coming to light are kinda gross, and some definitely have genuinely gone out of their way to foster a community that would naturally respond with vitriol, and while they themselves don't collab with the boys, that impacts the greater community as a whole, and not saying anything about that when it happens is at the very least irresistible, if not a tacit endorsement.I don't think anyone should be forced into collabs they don't want to do, but actively working against the facilitation of them doing cross collabs at all without significant difficulty is nothing short of disgusting. And I'm inclined to believe Nene saying they basically treat it like a clean room situation where they cannot be allowed to meet.Cover had the responsibility to promote the Holostars. They did so a little at first, but that consistently dropped off a cliff after the initial launch. Even their presence at HoloFest has consistently been pitiful. In entertainment, promotion is everything. And not only are they not promoting them actively, they're inhibiting their best resource- passive promotion from collabs. And for what? To appease people who, if they're going to drop their support over that, will do so at any tiny bit of friction anyway? Doesn't make any sense to me, personally.They already received very little in return for the rules they were given, now they can't even do things that Cover would have basically only needed to do paperwork to greenlight like covers or songs.
