Most artists do the same exact workflow.
AI sped it up, but it didn't take away from their overall lack of skill in regards to drawing poses.
It doesn't make it bad, it just means they didn't care enough to focus on free-form drawing practices.
Most artists are like this. From drawing fanart to gamedev to film to anime.
You see countless examples of people tracing over environments and adding filters to make backgrounds, or tracing over 3D models to get proper body proportions or keep certain details consistent from different angles, or taking random bits of images, cropping them out and assembling some pose and sketching over that.
AI is yet another process people use for doing that part.
At the end of the day it's all using someone elses material, usually, unless they went out and took the pictures / made the models themselves.
I've traced over my own body plenty of times to get weird ass angles looking right.

if you watch an 'art' stream its barely even art anymore. everything autofills, autocorrects, autohighlights, really its no different than AI, just more steps. they make a rough outline and the computer does the rest for them. So true it fucking hurts. The majority of the artists that I have seen whining do/use:
brushes that place whole textures down, from the edges of dresses to grass, wood grain to entire hair-styles
filters of all kinds, whether it is blurs, pixelizations, turbulent distortions and everything else
grabbing assets straight off google without paying for them
The first 2, yeah, you could give some concessions there, the last one, the last one is the single biggest reason they hate AI and they're doing the same fucking thing the AI companies did!
The first 2 are essentially no different to the process of tweaking AI values and prompt values to get some desired effect, sitting there redrawing the same edge over and over again until it looks right, literally RNG.
Until they've drawn traditional art, I do not consider most artists "artists". You're not a true artist unless you know how to draw blurred edges IRL.
As the saying goes, "Photoshop is for quitters", draw your blurs in Paint, fucko.

Most artists always used poses, even before we had photos. What are you trying to say here, basically nobody draws 100% from memory and it takes dozens if not hundreds of hours drawing reference poses to be able to draw and visualize them.
That's also why drawing mannequins, reference books and live-drwaing model classes exist. You literally cannot draw something unless you've at least seen it enough that it's in your memory.

Most of them don't go through the effort of learning how to draw from reference and even less do from memory.
There's nothing inherently wrong either way, but those are the ones that whine the loudest about lack of skills when they themselves lack the skills. They are egotistical gatekeepers who don't want anyone else "learning". Overwhelmingly so.
That's why the furries and niche fetish types are the most annoyed - all their Patreon bucks are drying up because others stopped going to them for sub-par porn games.
