I started playing Oracle of Seasons because I wanted to experience it first time and also watch Elisia vods later. It's such a trip realizing how Minish Cap, my favorite 2D Zelda, owes basically everything to Seasons. I know Zelda is quite formulaic anyways but so many gimmicks, mechanics, puzzles, items, characters and other design choices are straight from here.I'm also quite nostalgic for Link's Awakening so the shared GBC spritework makes me feel right at home and like I'm playing my favorite game for the first time. Pure joy. I wonder if the similarities to Minish Cap have struck Eli too, I remember she liked that one.

Like Malon and the ranch in 64 being a mario reference but more of a reference to link's awakening's similar characters. Tingle in Minish Cap takes inspiration from Tingle in Wind Waker which in turn came from Tingle in Majora's Mask, etc etc.What in Seasons is sticking out to you as being particularly like Minish Cap? To me the oracle games are more like awakening that minish cap is to the oracle games.

Sure it has moblins and darknuts but they don't act anything like the moblins or darknuts from the Oracle games for example. Stalfos perhaps and gibdos a bit but those are like earlier zeldas too. Most of the minish sized enemies/bosses are pretty different (if in theory semi-reskins of larger sized enemies) I don't mean to take away your whimsy though, their definitely is influence from earlier handheld games in Minish Cap to be sure.

All you gotta do is keep the rhythm and the game is super easy. Input late and the game gets even easier since there's much more leeway for being late than early.
