Kiki I just want you to know that me not showing up today had nothing to do with you or your content. At least for me, it hasn't been your fault at all. I wasn't in a position where I was able to watch a stream today. For the most part I don't really decide whether or not to watch you based on what you're streaming, but if you're on and I'm trying to watch a stream at that moment I'll watch. I think you should try to remember that all your viewers have their own lives and obligations too. I want to try to give my thoughts on what you were saying today.

I think it was a really nice idea you had for today's stream. Craft streams aren't very common and I don't think I've seen one working with clay before. I think a lot of people watch you for your comfy and relaxed vibes, which means people might be just listening and not chatting. Sometimes I have you on one screen and a game on another because I only have so much free time, so I probably wouldn't have been to active in chat either at that moment. That's not you doing anything wrong, that's just what I like to do.

You also seemed really torn up about your growth. Realistically, in order to draw a larger audience based on that specific type of content I think you would have to establish a strong reputation for being really relaxed, otherwise its not "growth" content. Most of the people I know who watch craft videos or restoration youtube videos are intending to just lay down, relax, maybe fall asleep. Even though your viewers now might enjoy it, a stream like this probably doesn't have a lot of strong mass appeal to draw in new viewers quickly. Growth would come from slow word of mouth, I think. But if you start getting a reputation for going menhera and bringing a really big whiplash to the stream's mood, it loses its appeal. I wouldn't be able to send this VOD to someone and say hey check this out. Besides today's specific example, I'm not really sure what you should do for growth that doesn't compromise your values.

As soon as the stream took a turn, a lot of those idle people probably stopped being comfy and came over to find out what was going on and console you, which is why chatting suddenly spiked. When you're stressed out people can feel that too. I understand you're going through a lot and that's okay. But I felt like you were kind of shooting yourself in the foot when the stream was going fine until then. I want you to succeed too and it frustrates me that there's only so much I can do to help, so I know after so many years of doing this how frustrating it must be for you.

I think the best thing you can do right now is try to address the things affecting your health that you have control over. Because it seems like that's stressing you out a lot and you can't be worrying about that while you're trying to chase your idol dreams. You need to be able to focus.

I am a firm believer that she would start feeling much much better if she started eating meat or at least fish, fuck at least 2-3 eggs every single morning

[Vod Reps] kiki mention how fewer "people"(ccv) were watching and only when there was "drama/controversy" did "people"(higher ccv) show up and kiki thought she got linked somewhere. I think kiki has a very deep misunderstanding of how youtube ccv works.

See Twitch and Youtube ccv work very differently and most people assume ccv works the same on both. Twitch ccv works by measuring how many users are connected to the stream. so even if you are tabbed out of twitch, playing a game with the sound in the background, or even watching an embedded link it will count as ccv (recently twitch added anti bot measures that mostly look at non account/newly created accounts' behaviour link no chat history or little chat history etc you can add a browser extension that shows the true twitch ccv in raw users connected to the chat if you care to see the difference). Youtube works massively differently. Youtube uses multiple systems and unknown algorithms to "detect bots"(remove ccv from lurkers and ad blockers) The first thing to know with youtube is that since about 2022 it has been known the youtube will remove the ccv of a user with an adblocker if youtube detects it, so this normally come in waves, sometimes adblockers fly under the radar and sometimes they get found and the ccv removed because youtube likes fucking with adblocker users like that. (This is 100% confirmed, youtube's excuse is that ad blockers mess with cookies that are used to detect ccv. this is bull). Second thing that will effect ccv with youtube is live playback.

Youtube only counts a ccv if it is "LIVE" which means the user has to be watching the stream live with a delay of less than 7-12 secs. If the user manually uses the playback feature(going back in the stream) or if the stream lags over 7-12 secs the ccv will not count. You can see this on the player itself as the red dot that says live will change to a grey dot. This means you are no longer counted to ccv (honestly I think this is really dumb. why have a playback feature if it will fuck with the ccv at least make it a 1-2 minute delay for the requirement for live status) The only way to get the LIVE status back is to either click the live button to skip forward to a live status that is acceptable, do that manually by skipping forward yourself or to x2 speed the stream to "catch up". This is actually a much bigger problem then most streamers and vtubers think as a lot of lurkers or normies will cllick on a stream but maybe it lags or youtube itself has a 30 second delay on and these tens of viewers will just casually watch thinking it's in live mode and not playback mode thinking they are counted towards ccv when they are not and it's really easy to not see when the live mode changes to playback mode I honestly think a good 50-70% of normies and lurkers don't even know this or know when it happens and watch for hours "live" when it isn't. You can tell this is happening most obviously when a chatter comments about something that happened 10-20 minutes ago like it just happened. Just know that this viewer is watching the stream but no ccv is being measured. This is most lurkers and normie viewers. This is where the myth of twitch = more views comes from because it is half true as youtube actively doesn't measure a shitload of viewers ccv.

Now here is the big one that mostly affects you personally kiki. Youtube will not measure a user's ccv if they are tabbed out for more than a few seconds from the stream. This removes any lurker that is sound only podcast style listening to the stream while gaming/working/cleaning/cooking/reading and or posting to bread/etc. This is a super dumb thing that youtube does that makes no sense. For the record twitch counts ccv from users that are tabbed out as long as they have sound coming from the tab even if it's only like 1/2%. Youtube goes scorched earth and tabbing out for even a few seconds from a stream tab will remove the ccv of those users. You can easy see this effect when you come back from peeing and the ccv suddenly jumps 10-20ccv consistently (did you seriously think after peeing 10 viewers left and a new 10 viewers replaced them every single time?). Or in this case if most are lurking your stream and you suddenly say "hey why is no one talking?" and then the ccv jumps up in one go or you are sad/crying and all the lurkers tab back in to comment and ccv goes from 60ccv to 120ccv+ in a couple of minutes. Kiki the 100+ccv was your true ccv that was being hidden with youtube's retarded active tab bullshit.

And that's not even your true ccv as lurkers that are just 7-12 seconds behind the stream are not counted as live ccv and on top of all of that if you have an ad block and youtube detects it the ccv is deleted as well. We all know that most champs have adblockers and tab out frequently to read or post to bread or lurk or listen while working. Sadly, a good amount of these champs will not be seen in ccv numbers for youtube.

Even going back to early holoEN days when Kiara ran into the same issue I think the problem is that to get the most out of them you basically have to be there every stream keeping up with the story. So it's hard for people to jump in partway through, and people will gradually drop off bit by bit as you go, so viewership will dwindle some. It's not awful, like you'll get some people, but it definitely can be a debuff. Playing well known classic games can also negate this to an extent since if people already know the game well they'll be more willing to just jump in and watch specific segments.

I guess I am one of these fabled RPG longplay stream watchers because I love them honestly. I love the journey, it feels like I'm with kiki on a road trip or something like that. I do understand that's not for everyone and intellectually I get why as if you miss a stream you don't know what's happening. But I think kiki has already kind of found a fix to this problem with just doing longer streams for Jrpgs so it's less fragmented or having a stream with a clear stated goal for what is being done that day and where it's going.

I saw the short of kiki getting laughed at by birds when she goes for walks, and it reminded me that my favorite bird is the Loon. They're aquatic birds, but unlike ducks or geese, whose legs go straight down from their body, loons legs are angled way backwards. This makes them extremely good at swimming with their flipper feet, but they can't even walk when they're on land, they have to fling their bodies forward clumsily. They almost never go on land except to nest, and spend most of their lives on the water (they can fly pretty good too)

Loons are most active in the early morning and late evening, when there is a little light but not too much. They have striking black and white feathers and surprisingly bright red eyes, but their most noticeable characteristic are their haunting, wailing calls, that they use to communicate with each other over very long ranges. The parents also like to carry the babies on their backs as they swim sometimes.

So, the same thing most of us, including me, were saying all along? Yeah, leaving a tab up is a nice thing to do. I'm doing the same myself, though it is muted because I'm doing other shit and don't really want to sit there listening to ASMR from random girls as I do it. The discussion came up right after I suggested people do that and some other champ mentioned that might not give them a view, so I assumed the original rant was trying to shame people into watching with audio on, with the tab focused, etc, giving your full attention, and shitting on Kiki and champs for not doing that.

But anyway this stuff is all up to the individual. Nobody is obligated to support Kiki's friends or the other vtubers that participate in events with her, and I wouldn't fault anyone for not doing so. Sure, it's a nice gesture, but I'd probably err more on the side of ignoring the other vtubers than going all in and spamming hearts at them or whatever in the name of "support". Best case is probably somewhere in between, having it up, maybe leaving one or two neutral messages saying hi but not being overly flirtatious if you feel like it, or just saying nothing, but I wouldn't say any champ is obligated to do that at all.
