having automated, well known archives on a different server, and then enough traction behind the original site and archive site to trust that autists worldwide all have local copies of the stuff and could reboot the whole operation if needed, it's a whole different level of archive safety

i don't think it's very unreasonable to believe that in 10k years there might still be accessible archives of this site somewhere because of the cultural significance of some of the boards
our little operation riding on the back of the giant machine might not make it to 10k but given the current state of imageboards the only ones that has a shot right now are 8 and 4

a better place might arise within the next decades but it's gonna be hard to beat the traction old places have built
