And only shorts? Do not, you are putting many barriers for the click-through rate, this increases friction and difficults (as in, lowers against you) the odds of this audience gained from the clip channel to move onto the main channel.
There is one contingent case, similar to what >>111496479 said, and that is if your main channel is ONLY for VODs, and ONLY for those, at that point yes you might benefit more because you aren't lowering your overall engagement rates to give the algorithm a positive signal that shows that your content deserves to be shown more than others. But, this as an addendum, some do say that you can still try to give it a try in your main channel despite it being only for VODs if you do upload consistently, because that gives you a higher percentage of success since you do have a constant inflow of this other metric that youtube likes so much.

Now, something that I did leave behind in the other part: If you stream to youtube (multistream, or do it only there, whichever one is indisctinct) then you want to be uploading both of these to your "main" channel, as the very same metric of click-through rates gets boosted simply because of how youtube likes to push things in order to keep the audience in their environment, so once you stream they get your stream recommended, your VODs of streams recommended, and if you do well enough even your non-audience gets pushed more things to them because you are playing along with the algorithm and engaging with the platform and all the options that it gives you so it incentivizes you to keep doing so by rewarding you with more numbers simply.
Either short or long format clips, therefore, go where you stream if you do so to make it faster.

This is going to sound retarded, but hear me out. What do you anons and active chuubas think about the matter of IRL vs your vtuber persona? Not that stupid trend where people show off their face on twitter, but the disconnect between a chuuba and who they are IRL.

It's probably brainworms, but looking online I feel like I'm limited in my choices for how I can present my IRL self (not doxxing myself, but mentioning IRL etc) or the type of character I can play. You have those who say shit like certain ethnicities can't play certain things, or those on the other wing who don't like certain people.

I'm just gonna be honest man, I'm brown and I was born and raised in a western country. I know I can ignore that stuff and play *something* unrelated to myself. Nobody polices you if you aren't actually a magical girl or whatever. My issue is that I don't want to just completely obscure my IRL self. I want to do IRL streams where I don't have to cover my skin tone, I want to offhandedly mention things that are culturally specific and such and not worry.

I feel like I'd be in fear of accidentally mentioning something or doing something that makes a bunch of weirdoes from both sides come out of the woodwork to harass me. Maybe I use a light skinned model and I get harassed cause I'm actually brown. Or maybe I just get harassed online because I'm a brown person in a western country. You know what a lot of people think about Indians for example.

Am I just being stupid /asp/? I've streamed a bit without a model, but now that I want to commission one, these things come to mind.
