Details don't matter too much but you know one thing I've been thinking that was interesting about the fanbase of male Vtubers? I can't think of a single one that was harassed or stalked into quitting. You look at the girls though and that is very much not an unheard experience. Now, I know that this guy from Niji JP had awful experiences with his fanbase infantilizing him and that sucked. Don't wanna be mean but as far as Vox, Mysta and Hex go they kinda set up a pretty bad situation for themselves and didn't exactly douse the flames so you can't treat them as pure victims in that situation. But yeah it almost never happens that a guy gets constant "I wish you were dead" or emotionally abusive DMs from a predominately female fanbase. At most they leave you/abandon you, they give you the passive aggresive silent treatment, or *maybe* if you "cheated" on them you get the scorned woman fury.Why am I saying all this? A lot of people assume Shark girl retired partly because she could no longer stand her audience (which was part true likely) and I have seen a few girls on Twitter who implied that the harassment they got or the menhera streaming gave them was so bad that it put them off from streaming for a while. To be entirely honest, an oshi that I love very much commented a while back that she was just tired of having regular abusive DMs wishing she were dead or calling her a failure and hating herself and all that menhera lady stuff (didn't help she did GFE without a lot of the safeguards and emotional preparation. A gender difference that is a bit akward to mention here is that guys tend to get insulted/disrespected more often so we have more experience handling it better and some girls who have been mentally/emotionally abused in the past do tend to be more vulnerable to the bullshit from groomers if they didn't develop the defenses for that.I dunno, sorry for the blogpost. It's just that it hurts to see so many sweet girls get hurt so bad by a Vtubing scene that fucking sucks. And one of the biggest things that made me go from being a fan of female Vtubers to a fan of male Vtubers was that I just didn't want to see incel shit anymore nor see girls being abused by random jackasses from who knows where.You sure as shit don't have to deal with any of that when you're watching Zanny or Wilson or Axel or even the more menhera/BFE guys that's for sure. Should have clarified something about the voice guy... he wasn't a nerdy but well-intentioned guy trying to entertain people. He was an outspoken chud who called himself discount Nuxanor while using an angel shota model not too disimilar to that all-white model someone posted wayyyyyyy back. It was also not uncommon for him to use slurs on his reaction videos (his niche) or occasionally talk about how great Trump was or how dumb liberals were. The guy was BAD bad lmfao. So when the girl said that the voice didn't fit the model she essentially meant it was stupid for him to use a cutesy angel model if he was going to act like a gross moid chud anyways, trust me she was being way more polite than that guy deserved lol. I guess it doesn't matter because eventually he switched to a babiniku model. On the other side I know of a guy who is missing half his septum (medical condition) and he sounds nice and everyone is super sweet to him even though admittedly he doesn't have a lot of viewers (I think that's more to do with his stream engagement and game choices tho).As far as voices being good or bad it is my genuine opinion that no one is born with an ugly voice, just an untrained one. And if some people have a "good voice" it is more an accidental result of the life they've lived and how growth affected their vocal folds than it is of genetics. I can assure that many people go most of their lives without realizing how much scoliosis they actually have or that they never do true diaphragmatic breathing (something very important for good singing). The thing is that if you want to just talk then you can just project the sound out your mouth and that's it, you'll be intelligible. But if you want to speak with a *pleasant* tone then you must broaden your resonances to the nasal and head cavities, have proper control of your breath flow, allow the lines to breathe, and have a clear control of your enunciation. Lastly the style of your voice is also the result of the life that you live (and maybe on some level of what you eat but I'm not too sure about that, do avoid smoking though) just by two minutes of listening to a chuuba speak you can have a decent guess if they're a fit, soft, rough, stoic, big, etc. kind of guy. But the voice is very very very moldable, you just gotta check out what some of the trans vocal pedagogues (?) can pull off. I uhhhhhhhhhhhh don't want to be mean but I do believe that at this point Liron could have probably improved his ESL a lot more, unless that is his signature thing.
