What would be a good use of AI in games? Better character dialogue that responds to you?Imagine talking to 2B and telling her to step on you with her 149kg body mass.
>>111646264>What would be a good use of AI in games?Nothing.
>>111646300I fear the time when they make brain interfaces to work, and games will read your mind and only present you things that would appeal to you.No more different or interesting perspectives in storytelling, you will only get the same worldview that you agree with, oh and God forbid you would get something that offends you. Really grim.
>>111646264allowing artist and modelers to let it do the busy work while they review and correct work instead of letting some guy generate random shit until it looks 'good enough'this would free up so much man power and let people make games so much better, but instead it's used to make slop.

>>111647063Anyone using AI assets will be bullied as hard as possible. It's the only way to stop the cancer. We've let too much slide. This is the line in the sand.
>>111647053I guess you hate Neuro as well
The problem with Generative AI is that it takes the work away from artists. You can make music, sprites, UI, even code with just a few prompts. There's also a perceived (and arguably false) pretense that AI is "stealing" the data it was trained on because there really isn't a law against telling a machine to look at pictures and regurgitate a similar picture as output. I can see why people dislike generative AI in games, but there's too much jumping to conclusions, like the Expedition 33 had a single wall texture placeholder. It's silly, really.
>>111645893I only use AI to make my own personal goon material. No longer do I have to pay some artist $80 for an image of Nerissa taking a fat shit on a hamburger bun and then have to wait 2 months to get it "if they even remember to send it to me" when I can do it in under a minute for free and if I dont like how it looks I can do it again.
>>111647175What's actually going to happen is that you're going to try to bully people and in the process piss everyone off. When AI use is inevitably normalized you'll either drop your beliefs or go insane.
>>111647185only bugs and zoomers watch that thingi don't hate it but i consider it far beneath me, and i barely have any self-respect
>>111647196AI in general takes away work from people. I see people advocating for AI in things like QA/bug testing, but like with artists, that's just taking away work from human QA/bug testers. People only make a big deal about AI taking away work from artists because artists are the most vocal whiners about it.

>>111647314I've noticed they don't pay attention to the code thing, either because they don't realize that there is barely a company on the planet not using AI to generate code now, or they think it's too widespread to stop, or they don't care about "tech bros". >>111648063Because people selectively care about the impact on some jobs and not others. There's a romantic component to being an artist, so it gets a bunch of people on the internet up in arms. Meanwhile nobody cares that games are likely using tons of AI-generated code.

>>111648183he should know what he's getting into being a male vtuber
>>111648160It doesn't matter if she has an avatar drawn by a "real human". The "datacenter use" is also not the point. The reality is that the text she generates comes from a model trained on publically available works and data, just like all those art models. He's maybe done some fine-tuning on top of that...although who knows, maybe he's just fiddling with hyper-parameters and hidden prompts.

If you're looking for a term that's closer to "Beliefs people hold for how virtuous it makes them look without actually experiencing any of the consequences of those beliefs," that's closer to the concept of "luxury beliefs".

>>111648487I dunno anon, is writing not art? Is an e-celeb's public persona not performance art? Underlying neuro-sama's outward speech is a model that has, from other people's data, made a best guess at how a quirky streamer should behave. Now, I personally don't have a problem with it, just as I don't have a problem with most AI art, because I think there will always be room for both human and AI art and people will always value what humans produce. But if you're the sort who has problems with AI-generated visual art, I think it's hypocritical to have no problem with AI-generated text. Which is likely why you have so many people who are delusional about neuro, like in the images in >>111648126and >>111648156. >>111648160>>111648235>>111648539>>111648613It's an entirely bullshit argument because the fact is that any changes Vedal might have made to create Neuro, she is still based on a corpo model released to the public (probably Mistral). >>111649112No, it's proven that META pushed for in-OS age verification so they can get more data. Although that was the social media side and not the AI one. There are more than enough articles, they had/have a whole division who was/is financing the pearl cluthcing politicians and anti porn advocates so they have money for lawsuits and lobby work. It's the reason that shit accelerated out of nowhere. You can luck it up.
>>111649194From what I understand the whole "feeding models other model's input" worry turned out to be something of a nothingburger. It just doesn't matter like they thought it would. And massive amounts of data don't really matter anymore anyway, they're paying subject matter experts to curate technical datasets for them
>>111649241This is true for a lot of the "professional" AI you use for things like programming, but live-AI usecases like the goole AI or ChatGPTs websearch are already getting poisoned by AI inbreeding. It's also why Grok fell off on twitter, people realized it started to use itself as source for answers. (besides the whole Musk bias)
>>111649309I thought the grok use fell off because of image generation being locked behind subscription because a bunch of degens kept using it to generate lewd/bikini pictures of actual women in their replies, including children
>>111649309Isn't grok using itself as a source sort of different from the training set concern, though? Like that's not necessarily from its training set, that's from the model not being careful enough about which sources it wants to use. Like from what I understand, the worry about AI text being used in the training set was that it would cause a collapse in the quality of the actual text output. That doesn't seem to be happening with grok, it's just incestuous with its references
>>111649433The inbreeding fear only exists for live models like Grok right now.For text output you would want as a "journalist" or engineer writing reports there are already enough training sets pre-AI available. This might change in 20, 30 or 50 years when the writing styles and contemporary words change. But with the way things are going there is a good chance we as a species will adapt an AI-writing style in the next few years and this will stay locked in for the remaining future of humanity.
>>111649399That's part of it, but even before the image generation became a thing every comment chain on twatter was just "Grok is this true?" "Grok explain!" "Grok proof him wrong!".

>>111662479I'm sorry, but this is cope. He probably did tons of work to make a cool interface between the LLM and the stream. But it remains true that the fundamental core of Neuro is a LLM.
>>111648376>>111648494>gacha sloppers and vtumor worshippers talking about who is more inbred
>>111661293>bugs did not exist before AI 99 percent of all code that the world runs on is spaghetti shit, anon, and a cursory pass with AI would improve it. The good stuff is rare indeed
>>111645893>gambling addiction yes>AI slop no???

>>111663243LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>111645893How are retarded fuckers like /vt/ defending this dumb whore?>AI art is... LE BAD!>unless it's games like E33 or RE9 that I like, where the devs explicitly said they had AI art... then it's LE GOOD!>also look at these other shit I've partnered with that had AIHow is it that this stupid cunt manufactures drama to boost her viewers like this shit >>111662619 /vt/ comes defending her?
>>111669559>I like x because it makes libs/chuds seethe The true, brainrotten contrarian position.
>AI Derangement Syndromethat's called being normal
>>111646300AI has been in games longer than you've been alive, kiddo.
>>111669900The thing is NTE also said they use ai (and at the end it was only on a couple billboards, which were removed). People are having extreme Ironmouse fatigue and nobody wants to associate with her rabid fans of toddlers

>>111671948>Tactikal Templar
>>111671948that fag is a TVAtranny phaseshill who always takes any opportunity to harass actual vtubers
I only play ethically sourced gacha with artistic integrity
>>111669900I am out of the loop about this but if the devs previously said they were using AIslop (which can be turnoff for me imo) why is she seething that they lied to her?

>>111672609Because she loves causing drama. Drama = viewers = more money.>devs have been upfront about using AI>for stuff like background, for shit that don't matter>everything else is made by, and voiced by humans, even literal NPCs with 1 single line of dialogue were voiced by humansYou have even a small time literally who voice actor coming out saying she's standing against AI and will take being fired over working for this company. When she literally voiced 1 line in the entire game. She too wanted to jump on the bandwagon and gain followers/social media clout..
I'll never understand anti AI vtubers who pay for a checkmark. Literally directly contributing to AI development.
>>111668996 Society already accepts automation in domains where the output is judged mostly by usefulness, such as coding. If AI helps optimize some shitty spaghetti code, few people object because ultimately the goal is efficiency. But art has historically been valued partly because of the human behind it. People care not only about what was made, but who made it and how. The Mona Lisa hanging in the Louvre is only valuable because of who painted it and the history behind it.A handmade painting and a factory print can look identical, yet people value them differently. A song written after a breakup feels different if listeners know it came from lived experience rather than statistical synthesis. There's cultural value in human created works; zero in AI slop.
>>111672415I don't get it.

>>111672888>>111672888Twitter is the largest social media platform on earth, and unfortunately if you're serious about expanding your reach and growing your brand, you need to shill out for the mark since growing organically is a thing of the past, thanks to that ketamine addict Elon.
