There's an alt history version of vtubing where tabletop games become a core part of what they do. It seemed like something a lot of people thought would work well to give the audience longer form stuff to follow that wasn't just their single streamer playing a video game or whatever. There's obviously merch you can make for your character and fun mascot type npcs that people like and so on. And it's ultimately the streamers being creative together and making something novel. It seems like in practice though, improv rp in front of an audience is really stressful so almost everyone that tried it burned out. So, back to reacting to videos and vidcons.

I think some of them could really benefit from more special/event-style streams for their core fanbase again because it really has been awhile for almost all of them (for example mouse could do a stream in which she plays hard games and any time she loses she has to swap models)
