It's basically trying to go full hog in complete automation by building in control systems that can self regulate themselves and do everything without human input. But it doesn't work because even with redundancies, there are issues with reliability and LLMs fundamentally that don't allow it to work 100%. Still people are trying to build this, it's what people in the valley are going with in terms of agents.
