I think part of it is just geography. JP talents see each other frequently cause they all live near each other, they meet in the studio and go to a cafe afterwards, they organize trips together etc.You can't fake that kind of bond and familiarity.

In EN, you have Korean-Canadians, a Midwesterner, a French-German, an Italian, an Austrian, a half-Japanese, a Thai-American, an Italian-American, and I could go on. All their upbringing and interests wildly differ from each other, which makes it hard for one another to connect beyond stale memes that are relatively universal on the western side of the Internet.

Everyone knows how to tsukkomi, and a lot of jap comedy is based on these exaggerated reactions that become more of a climax than the joke itself.And secondly, they've got way better relations with each other. A lot of them have been good friends for years, sometimes even before joining holo, and they all hang out regularily, so they feel way more comfortable, have a lot of shared stories and inside jokes they've developed naturally.On the EN side, asides from the few people who actually live in JP, they've probably only seen each other a handful of times in total, and just don't have particularily deep connections.I think both of those are particularily difficult hurdles to ever pass, the former due to the fact that while this sort of comedy is incredibly easy to pull off, it just doesn't sound natural in english. Korone is on a league of her own when it comes to entertainment, granted it's that kind of "you either love or hate it" kinda of humor with very little middle ground, but for those of us that enjoy it it doesn't get any better, she's the GOAT. I'm sure there's other funny holomem in both EN and JP who appeal to different audiences, for I like pekovivi and autofister+kronii too, but only korosan has the total package for me.Notably I've seen people praise Polka exactly like this too, she does little for me but I've no doubt that to those people she's the embodiment of entertainment too and that's fine, different people like different things.
