That didn't last long
>>
>>111842888
If they did more concerts it would have been better, but they didnt, so it didnt
>>
>>111842888
You do realize this is a good thing for Hololive, right?
>>
>>111842888
How embarrassing
>>
pulling the plug on something that isn't working is the sign of a company that is mature and will make it.
>>
>>111842888
what a fucking joke, how much time and money they invest in this shit again?
>>
>>111842888
Haachama died for this. Holoearth should've been a thing
>>
>>111842888
they've moved onto holodori now, at least that one has rhythm games
>>
>>111842947
A platform for concerts/general 3D events is all this thing should have ever been. It could have been really amazing, imagine if you could watch Holofes but have control of your camera angle. And obviously they could have done bikini contents and anything else that's not entirely youtube friendly.
Nobody wanted a goddamn video game.
>>
>>111843588
The thing is that holoearth was originally supposed to be just a genshit-style videogame, the whole metaverse thing was added years into development
>>
>>111842989
It's a good thing that they finally put a stop to this shit, but the decisions that lead there and the people who made them are still driving the ship towards an iceberg.
>>
>>111842947
Did any Holo talent actually use it for a concert?
>>
>>111843415
>Haachama died
Does he know?
>>
>>111843090
a couple of billions, the only good part about it is that they didn't end up wasting tens of billions.
>>
>>111844175
There were multiple test concerts, like 3 or 4?
>>
>>111843415
You stupida Idiota.
>>
>>111843415
Haachama cannot live or die.
Her existence isn't well understood.

How many billions down the drain?
>>
>>111842989
Yes and no.
Yes, because they dont know what to do with it. FUCKING NO its a really bad sign for their future and it shows they dont know what to do with their IP. They might as well be a 3dpd streamer company now.
>>
>>111842888
>Anons said they were using Holoearth as a way to bypass Youtube nonsense
guess they were wrong
>>
>>111843090
I heard 20 million dollars

holocope
>>
>>111842888
This shit never even officially released, did it?
>>
>>111843588
This. It would have been a solution to several problems with streaming dependent on outside platforms - stream compression decimating visual quality, platform ToS restrictions, absolutely trivial stream piracy for paid events. Ideally they will recycle the work that went into this for such a client in the future. But it seems more likely they'll just shift resources to the next software project they want to turn into a tentpole instead of supporting and bolstering the streaming business that built their entire customer and revenue base.
>>
>>111842888
Yeah, it wasn't really good but it could have been a lot worse and Hololive is a owned by a IT company, so its expected they'd do a platform like this and then use it for other things. It's nice they tried but it was unlikely it would work out.
>>
>>111842888
>hard earned money from my oshi and other women wasted for this shit
>>
The idea of an online virtual concert hall overworld is actually genius but no they had to go full corporetard on it.

Imagine a world where the service of following concerts online on their platform was a tially great with added value. Anyway, they finally axe that tumor, good for them

>The idea of an online virtual concert hall overworld is actually genius
no need to worry about youtube shenanaigans

The insurance of having a back up in case of Youtube declaring war on Vtubers is just too tempting so its hard to imagine a world where don't at least try a minimal version of that. Even with how stupid management is there's no way they don't do something at least that basic.

They could easily refactor it into their own in-house hololive-branded version of Cinderella Switch. Just throw in the VR plugin in Unity.

This is how you sound to anyone outside your bubble.
>>
>>111842888
Lmao
>>
>>111858867
It's a good thing that they finally killed it. It's like watching someone you care about beat an addiction.
>>
>>111842989
They're just going to blow another 40 million on another pie in the sky chase project that won't pay out.
Sometimes I wonder if these money sink projects would actually work out if they polished them more but I guess we can say they're not caught in sunk cost fallacies.
>>
>>111858867
Concord shouldn't have happened in the first place, but after it did it getting shut down was a good thing for Sony.
>>
>>111842888
>That didn't last long
It lasted way too long.
>>
even though my own avatar was just a small pyramid and there was quite a bit of frame lag, that initial Yamato Phantasia concert was something amazing. There were so many awesome visual effects that they were able to add to the concert that really made it a fun experience. Being able to view the show not just from a fixed camera POV but being able to move and look around really added to the experience. I'll always remember watching Fubuki singing "KonKon Beats" and those giant 3D glowing speakers bouncing along.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5qqkGHHDgw
It's crazy that in the almost 3 years since Yamato Phantasia, they did NOTHING even close to it since.
>>
>Hololive fixing itself is bad because I can't false flag about holoearth stealing holostars funding while pretending to be a stars sister anymore.

So sad! Maybe you can go watch streams now!
>>
is it bad that this thread is the first time i've even heard of this?
being able to move your PoV to look up their skirts during concerts sounds great, too bad.
>>
>>111842989
let me look into my crystal ball to see your 2027 posts
>*insert name* quitting is good for hololive actually!!! she was a whore and we never liked her!!!

Was it out? I remember this thing being hyped for years.
I knew this suit was going to be another metaverse failure.
