The reason why big clippers worked was people from all different fanbases came to see if a clip of their oshi got uploaded and when they saw something new popped up they watched it anyway even if they didn't normally watch the clipped chuuba. It was beneficial for everyone, you always could get a couple of new viewers who found you through a clipping channel by accident. Now you get much less discovery when you have a dedicated channel for clips of only 1 vtuber.
