Madonna del Sasso, Orselina, Ticino, SwitzerlandI visited this monastery in 2022. I didn't see much of the monks but it was a very hot day and many of them had left their bedroom windows wide open. I could see a handful of their posessions - one of them had a little pokemon plush. I hadn't thought that they were allowed to keep possessions like that. I'd love to go back and actually meet some of them one day.

The catholic one was the first (13+ years), then we had a black/native one, and the last one is mine that has a secular approach. The second has always been run by a black non-affiliated christian dude, and mine is run by me an agnostic atheist. We’ve been doing this for 10+ years and not a single serious complaint. The catholic one has had THREE leaders caught having inappropriate private conversations (phone and in person) and TWO confirmed cases of sexual and spiritual abuse. It was so bad the org was about to close down entirely. Now the catholic program is being run by a young woman who once dreamt of being a nun, and there have been no issues as of yet.
