1960 PBY Catalina incident, Gulf of Aqaba, Saudi Arabia. Bedouin soldiers open fire on Kendall's family believing them to be Isreali airmen. The airplane had too much projectile damage to recover and was left abandoned on the beach.

Widdy Island explosion, 1979. 51 dead from hull failure during routine fuel discharge. Accident likely attributed to bad maintenance procedures and improper unloading procedures resulting in a fire and eventual explosion.
