if there is a DJ or producer you enjoy coming to a town close to you, you should try it.
you should know that the music sounds (and feels) very different in a club than on smaller soundsystems or headphones. i fell in love instantly when i first stepped into a rave the first time (but you should get hearing protection and its not like that for everyone).
there is also hardcore drug consumption at most raves (tho some better than others). if you dont enjoy the music without drugs or alkohol, then you shouldn't do it.

That's not what "breakcore" is. The closest thing DnB had to it in it's relation was the Darkstep "scene" started by Dom & Roland. You can sort of hear it on his debut album (1998) + 31 Recordings single (1997). Germans were also doing quite a lot around 98.
