I know people like to hate on fifth/final stage, myself included, but I really like how the animation was done in final. Especially the opening and ending. Just a real shame how the end of the series was hampered down by typical anime bullshit like the Fujiwara Zone and that cliche with Shinji just being a cardboard cutout of Takumi but with hubris added. At the end of the day however, I still greatly prefer Initial D over MFG and whatever the fuck shigeno is doing with Subaru and Subaru
