Saliva is designed to kill mouth bacteria, so if you mouthbreathe then it dries up the saliva. If you nosebreathe then there's more saliva to kill the bacteria.Now, almost all tooth decay actually comes from sugar and sugar alone. If you minimize sugar intake to a normal human amount then you literally won't get cavities. The reason people get cavities at all is because massive companies are selling products that are the size of a baseball but contain over 30 times your daily maximum for sugar. Americans are over-ingesting sugar so much that is the cause of all the cavities. Sugar itself damages the teeth but it also lures in bacteria that likes to eat the sugar off of your teeth and while the bacteria does that it also eats holes into your teeth called cavities. Fun fact. If you don't eat sugar and you don't mouthbreathe then you will rarely get cavities, even if you don't brush, especially if you use alternative brushing methods that don't rely on big brush, you don't even need to do it that much either because without sugar and mouthbreathing it's very hard to get a cavity lol.
