New autistic threadPrevious: >>6013334
>>6018976This is a perfect example of why autism shouldn't be a blanket term used for multiple different conditions. Three people with wildly different needs, yet they're all put under the same label, which only does a disservice to them via confusing the masses and giving professionals that could treat them less information up front.
Autism is basically narcissism and being self-centered
>>6020255>fishing for (you)sits bait desu :)~
>>6020461Check the time between posts. It's a poorly disguised necrobump.
>>6020463NUUUUUUUUUUUUU MY REPUTATION
>>6020461I'm not baitingProve how my statement is wrong
>>6018978don't bother cutting your hair. it acts like antennas to connect you to subtle things around you.the jews don't want you to know this
>>6020861Fuck that, long hair gets in the way, constantly itching.
>>6020767Autism isn't those things, however there are narcissists and similar types that are abusing the autism label as a way to excuse their shitty behavior.
>>6020767if you see it as a narcissistic self-centered issue, i've got news for youthats you, projecting - you're seeing yourself in other peoplemost autists want to blend in and make/keep friends, but that can be hard due to social deficits, advanced cognition, or reduced cognitionnot because "everything is about me"i say its bait, because it seems like you're just trying to have an low intelligence rage bait argument to make yourself feel better by being shitty in a thread about people with autismim sure there are a small number of autists who are narcissists, even psychopaths, nothing is absolute
>>6020940>however there are narcissists and similar types that are abusing the autism label as a way to excuse their shitty behavior. That's true, I agree. Most of the people that are willingly going to the doctor to get tested for autism are basically just looking for a label to excuse their shitty behavior. They study the topic and mimic the symptoms during the evaluation just to get their certificate>Autism isn't those things, disagree, will cont here>>6021014>most autists want to blend in and make/keep friends, but that can be hard due to social deficits, advanced cognition, or reduced cognitionI didn't say autists are born narcissists or self centered, but these characteristics combined with life experience turns them into one.>want to have friends but can't maintain friendships due to disability>not interested in small talk and the lives of other people i.e. can't be arsed to fake pretend to care for 2 minutes>only interested in a few topics and just wants to talk about them>finds the presence of other people annoying and needs to be alone>if high functioning there's a high chance of developing a superiority complexetcsounds quite self-centered to me
>>6021092well, if you want to get into human psychologyeveryone is self centered and everything they do is for themselvessure favors are nice, but you do them because they make you feel goodgetting praised for your kindness, favors, or other acts like that...still for you, because doing that stuff makes you feel gooda truly selfless act comes at personal sacrifice to ones self with no expectation of any type of reciprocation, including a simple thankslets hear how you're totally selfless, not a self centered asshole in the autist thread going for attention grabbing you's -__-and maybe lookup what projecting (in psychology) means?
>>6020937>long hair gets in the waytie it back or whatever>constantly itchingi've had "long" (nipple length) hair twice (2nd run atm) over the decades and never noticed any itching. hope that helps
Because I didn’t make it clear in the previous thread webm related is one of my diagnoses from childhood. I remember being taken to see at least half a dozen shrinks; this assessment might have been from the last group I saw, and/or the first people to suggest that I had the tism.
>>6018978>the manipulative sad music they put in the backgroundWatch out for that.
>>6018978I remember once trying to glue my cut hair back on, using Clag or what Americans would know as Elmer's school glue.
> Large Language Models represent a fundamentally degenerative technology because they systemically devalue the very processes that underpin human progress: original thought, rigorous inquiry, and shared trust. On an individual level, they encourage cognitive offloading, substituting the difficult work of critical thinking and creative synthesis with effortless, probabilistic text generation. This fosters an atrophy of intellectual skills, making society more dependent on automated systems and less capable of genuinely emancipated thought. This intellectual dependency, in turn, threatens long-term technological advancement by trapping us in a recursive loop of recycling and rephrasing existing knowledge, rather than fostering the groundbreaking, first-principles discoveries that drive true progress. Ultimately, this technology is dangerous for society because it erodes the foundation of a shared reality by enabling the mass production of sophisticated misinformation, corroding social trust, and concentrating immense power over information into the hands of a few unaccountable entities.
>>6023218Humans can't win with machines. My autistic knowledge won't win with NT shitheads using Chat GPT or any other tool to finally find something that I wouldn't have an answer for. If society is to fall like that, then so be it.
>>6022702we're just about the same age...you're a little older actuallydo you still prefer being alone? did that ever...uh, go away or become less?asking for a friend (jk i dont have any)
>>6018978why would they try and force him to do something instead of just bait him to do something he likes that naturally keeps him still, and while he's chilling, just cut hair slowly?i feel like thats pretty obvious, so maybe theres something im missing>>6020861>>6022700you're desensitized obviously but it is very annoying and hard to adjust in the beginning as it grows out, i had mine for about a year before cutting it due to it being frustratingand the webm we're quoting, that guy would probably end up yanking on and pulling out his own hair either accidentally or intentionallycould you imagine trying to brush his hair to get the knots and tangles out too
>>6023466I think my brain started making connections and I basically ‘grew out of’ that extreme isolationism as a teen; I’ve since had some friends but probably no more than one or two at a time. I’m married with an adult daughter who lives interstate; I spend far more time with my wife than with anyone else. When I travel for work, I keep to myself, usually staying in the hotel rooms.
>>6023468>that guy would probably end up yanking on and pulling out his own hair either accidentally or intentionally>could you imagine trying to brush his hair to get the knots and tangles out toohaha ok fair point, but i say leave him alone to let it get dredded naturally.>guess who's coming to dinner>autistic dreadlocks*hits own head*>what a bam bam bam
>>6024383This is very depressing. Why do we allow these sorts of people to keep living? They are a burden to themselves and others.
>>6024897It's a "moral dilemma" because sometimes these people feel joy or exhibit some kind of lucidity. A lot of people are under the impression that anyone can improve and/or be rehabilitated and integrate into society properly. As someone with autism, I can say that my existence is hell and I truly wish I was never born. I'm not bad enough to be a burden on others, but I know I don't belong and being around other people in a social environment feels wrong. I can't imagine how bad it is for someone like the guy in that video, but I can say with absolute certainty that if I was that bad, it would be pure torture being forced to exist in such a state.

>>6022405As with anything there are levels to self-centeredness, or as they say in the autistic circles, a spectrum. If the spectrum is from 1 to 10, then scoring 8 on a self-centered test vs 4 is not the same."Normal" people would on average score much lower than autists and this makes the difference. It's not the same to be self-centered sometimes vs always. You know how people love to say "oh, we are all autistic a bit"? Well, it is true because it's a spectrum, but the average person has one autistic moment in a year while the autist experiences it every day. Not the same, right?>maybe lookup what projecting (in psychology) means?I will, only when you explain to me how autists don't share traits with self-centered people and narcissists
>>6026100>I will, only when you explain to me how autists don't share traits with self-centered people and narcissistseveryone does, thats my point, and you also explained it well that its a spectrumself centeredness its a human condition and not exclusive to autists onlythe reason i say you're projecting, is because you dont seem to understand how autists come across versus what they mean (as you mentioned its a spectrum)interpersonal relationships and verbal communication has always been the most difficult part about autism and is misunderstood by people like yourself and why you seem to perceive them as self-centered and narcissisticautists get bullied quite a bit through school too, and we have to protect ourselves as well, and with bad coping strategies it can also come across as self centeredits deeper than just what you think you see and are projecting your perceptionsif you have any actual real world examples (videos, reports, etc) i would love to see what you're referring to
