>>6025188Awesome choice anon, I love that song!
>>6025221thanks =D
The bass player for Duran Duran was so criminally underrated. This guy is on another planet.
Same as Tina Weymouth who played bass and keyboards for the Talking Heads. She and David Byrne were like oil and vinegar and the band wouldn't have had the same dynamic without pure hatred for one another.

>>6024320maybe someone knows:there was a band/song/video. i want to say mid- to late-80s. maybe 1990 but i doubt it. one of the first real electronic bands. and it was more "rock" or even "metal" than it was "dance" or "pop" or whatever. definite rock drum & guitar samples. lots of distortion even on the vocals.i don't remember the name of any of it, not the band, not the song, not what it was about, not even the specific year. but this video totally reminds me of it.it was in b&w like this.it was mostly in like some old mansion, but it was all cruddy and dilapidated.there was some old wrinkly bald rich guy. with big glasses on like what junior wore in sporanos.he has a limo sitting out front but it's a really old car, to fit with the shitty house. the driver wore an old school driver uniform (whatever that means) with the hat and everything. and his old lady you could tell used to be hot but now she's one of them old bats that wears too much makeup and unflattering clothes.all i keep coming up with is kmfdm, but it's not them. or, if it is, i can't find it in their catalog.someone pls halp i've had a drumbeat, vague guitar loops, and muffled vocals i can't understand stuck in my head for like 2yrs.
>>6030454>all i keep coming up with is kmfdmI'm guessing you saw KMFDM - A Drug Against War and it wasn't that? It has some elements you're describing and it's similar to that video.
>>6030678>KMFDM - A Drug Against WarNope. Definitely not. It's a live action video, not animated at all. I know for sure it wasn't KMFDM. It also wasn't quite as 'electronic' as, say Kraftwerk, and it wasn't nearly as "pop" either.More like Prodigy or something. But not Prodigy. Definitely British.I'd buy Chemical Brothers, maybe. From the Block Rockin Beats era. But I think this predates. And I've searched through CB's discog and it ain't there. This was, I think, more of a one-hit wonder. Song was everywhere for like 2 months and then they were gone.Sorry. All I have is vague descriptors.

great band.FYI there's a documentary out about the lead singer Adrian Borlandcalled: walking in the opposite direction. i definitely recommend.
