what a sad thread ah well happens to us all
>>6046523There is a better webm of this without the background music, only the laughs and a different slideshow that is more universally appealing. Too bad I did not save it when I had the chance. It is what it is.
>>6046523I did a lot of these things with my 5 year old son. Just sayin.

>>6050629>>6050653Few things activate the "cozy 2000s afternoon" part of my brain like these two videos
>>6051331this is definitely made by some zoomer born in 2004
>>6045476People put a lot more effort into internet memes back in the day.
>>6051719oh my god i have the files mixed up. this was supposed to be the original

Weird how we often see 2000s nostalgia threads and sometimes 2010s nostalgia threads but there's no '90s nostalgia threadsI guess all the anons who remember those either an heroed or decided to stop coming here after turning 40
>>60521614chan turned to shit a long time ago.
>>6051719At the beginning I thought "Wow how did I not notice for all these years that they drew the buildings like dicks"
>>6050634Source on the song? I understand it's a remix of Around the World by ATC but anyone know which remix?
>>6051719Why
>>6047755
>>6052161There used to be alot of 90s threads in here before covid. I think alot of people recognize the 2000s as the last distinctive period in America since the late 2010s suck ass and everything has been shit since. There's plenty of 40+ anons contributing here
>>6051719>>6051720>>6052184>>6052274i find this one particularly funny because i found this one before the original and no matter how many times i listen to the audio im conditioned to hear this one before the original
>>6051719What the fuck
>>6051725Virtual Fighter 2
>>6052811Crap I think I might be wrong. I was thinking it was Sarah from VF2 but it might be one of the chicks from Dead or Alive... either way I'm 100% sure it's a Sega game from either Dreamcast, PS1 or XBox era.
>>6052814Damn I'm old, but it made me realize that OP's vid is deceptive mixing 90s with 00s. The "Kumite" mode made me realize that's actually from the shittiest Virtua Fighter on the shittiest system: VF4 on PS2.
>>6051719Bless you I had lost this version. Saved.
Man
>>6052379i still want to go back. take me back.
>>6049884>90's edition>all 2000's nostalgia
>>6052379I had a bad trip off a gas station THC/mushroom drink and it felt exactly like this video
>>6052161I have a bunch of 90s memories but it was all before internet. It doesn't really make for good videos unless you do things like picrel maybe. None of it is digital really.
>>6052161>>6053189To elaborate, my 90s memories are stuff like>playing with pogs and marbles at school>90s music that I'd hear on the radio>going to the chalet in summer where I'd catch crayfish in the river, play with tonka toys in the sand, climb up to my treehouse to eat some popsicles and so on>playing SNES, Sega, playstation, gameboy
>>6053189>>6052520Well, i don't think it would be right of me to start a 90s nostalgia thread because i only have a few blurry memories of 1999, but if there was one up i'd gladly check it outAnyway, let's get back in topic
>>6053189>clannad ostfuck
>>6053189Man this video brings back a very specific feeling. The feeling of being halfway through summer vacation, still young enough to not have any responsibilities. It's hot as fuck, you're bored out of your mind because you already did everything you could think of, half the kids are on vacation elsewhere. You don't want to go back to school just yet but holy fuck you'd take anything to distract yourself. You walk around, rest in the shade while listening to cicadas and other summer sounds. Maybe you'll walk to the shitty public pool nearby that's made of concrete and was never properly finished so it's rough and kinda hurt.
>>6052161To me the 90s and the 2000s are one and the same, because it's the mid-90s to the mid-00s. Nu-metal and pop-punk and the techno goth aesthetic of wearing leather clothes with sunglasses indoors that wasn't started by The Matrix.I don't really give a shit about early 90s even though that was my childhood with saturday morning cartoons a plenty and the golden age of pixelated graphics in video games and fuckin POGS like the other anon posted. For zoomers, a 2000s nostalgia tread usually starts around 2007 - and it's all video games and youtube shit. For me, the 2000s were all about going to punk concerts and metal bars and goth clubs. Even if I was shitposting on Newgrounds at the time and getting into torrenting and being extremely online, it's still not what I remember the 2000s as. Maybe Myspace and MSN messenger, but again those were only a means to an end (hooking up with emo and mallgoth girls)
>>6050644Nothing says 2000s like the original PS2 violet-blue LED
>>6045473Ahh virtua fighter 4...Now that's a fighting game
>>6050639Best ever.
I still have a collection of Omega yoyo's that were briefly popular sometime around 1999-2000 where I grew up. I remember them being immensely popular for about 1 year and then completely fading away. That same year I downloaded porn off limewire and bricked my family computer with the cih virus.
>>6050257I was social awkward as a teen that I had sexual fantasies with the education connection girl... man I was lonely.
>>6053623>That same year I downloaded porn off limewire and bricked my family computer with the cih virus.same but I was likeOH BOY TIME TO LISTEN TO SLIPKNOT FEAT. MARYLIN MANSON.EXE I BET THIS SOUNDS GREATluckily this was when literally nothing of value was online or in the computer. banking was still done via the physical bank, taxes were done via physical mail, if your email got hacked or you forgot the password or whatever you would just a get new email no problem. Now we live in a very convenient age where grandma loses all her life savings after she clicks on an AI video of babies dancing with dogs.
>>6053602>it's the mid-90s to the mid-00sExactly what I always say. When people talk about the 90s, they're usually referring to the period of like 1996-2004. A lot of the pop culture was the same for about 10 year:, the same TV shows (Friends, Sopranos), the same celebrities (DiCaprio, Kobe), the music (boy bands, goth punk, gangsta rap) all started and carried on late into the 2000s. We still have public access TV on our local channels in like 2006. Internet access still required you to sit on your ass and connect.>pic related - commercial from the 90s that aired everyday into the 2000s>being extremely online, it's still not what I remember the 2000s asYou sound like me anon. I joke with people that I was terminally online before it was cool. Yet somehow all my 2000s memories are not "internet things" even though most of the content in these threads are memes. I had a social life...and then I made time to chat with baddies on MySpace, game with global buddies while chatting on MSN, contribute to one of a dozen independent forums I was part of. I had a gaming circle where we'd face off with PS2 competitions, then we'd all go home and live our own lives.
>2000s gaming circles
>>6053189reminds me of going to my grandparents.it was far away and we had to stop in these tiny spaces between.just a gas station or some tiny lone diner with 360 degree flat horizon.hot on the way therecool with rain clouds rolling in on the way back.stopping in a car at a train crossing, watching old rusty box cars or freight pass by on trains that seemed to go on forever.
>>6055130
>>6046523Damn dude this was me. 15 in 2009
>>6046523I miss the old internet. You could get it back bit for bit but the people there are gone, so it doesn't really matter anyway.
>>6050741What the hell is Lady from Devil Mat cry 3 doing here?
>>6050648The footage for KotOR in this is from SWtoR.
>>6056223Arr rook same
>>6047412Don't be sad because it's over, smile because it happened
maybe im just showing my age but does it seem like to yall that the last 10 years nothing culturally has really changed?Besides AI the world and culture seems the same except for being all around worse. There is no 2020's fashion or music like how how there was with every decade before.
>>6046523If you spend all your time looking backwards, you'll never see where you're going or where you are. And you'll only see the good times when they're behind you, too.
>>6053806>When people talk about the 90s, they're usually referring to the period of like 1996-2004.No, core 90s/mid 90s was 1993-1997 (Power Rangers, Friends, Macarena, Space Jam, smooth jazz music). 1998-2001 was the Y2K era.
>>6050741They aged so poorly. Turns out they weren't really lesbians and shit. But definitely nostalgic for me.
>>6052197I have also been on the hunt for the specific remix but yet to find it.
>>6058259No i feel the same wayI can think of a couple of things that are distinctively 2020s, such as AI, TikTok, broccoli hair and hating on Israel becoming mainstream, but overall the 2020s feel a lot closer to the 2010s than the 2010s did to the 2000s
>>6058593>zoomer talkNo retard. There was no "Y2K era" back then. It was the 90s until it wasn't. Most of pop culture and celebrities transcended across the 90s to the mid 2000s. Nobody who talks about the 90s is referring to the fucking power rangers or 1993. Just like nobody is referring to Wrestlemania 17 as the 2000s even though it was 2001. It was a product of late 90s attitude era wrestling.
>>6058259I have felt this way since like 2012 at least
>>6058368Why even come to a nostalgia thread and say this bullshit?
>>6058368>you'll never see where you're goingto worse hell>or where you arein hell
>>6059581Idk. If I was desperately boring and had zero personality, I'd probably do the same.
>>6058259Yeah it's true>85' - 95' huge differences>95' - 05' huge differences>05' - 15' huge differences>15' - 25' basically the same just with ai

>>6051555Finally one of these with a music that actually fits the theme and doesn't suck ass
>>6053175Mushroom drink?? Oh wait yeah tea, my dad talks about thatAlways been curious never done it but want to once in my life. Scared of the repercussions desu, wondering if I succeeded I could control it to a nostalgia trip back in time if for a few hours. Also, GAS STATION??
>>6059071The mid 90s flannel era was literally more 90s than 1999 Nu metal, which was transitioning into the 2000s
>>6045473>It's just a stream of corporate slop
>>6052161no there was no real internet culture in the 90's and the tech for making most of these shitty videos didn't exist.
>>6061765>no there was no real internet culture in the 90'syou're extremely wrong and you're lucky i can't be bothered to tell you why because you absolutely do not deserve the knowledge.faggot. niggerfaggot, even.
>>6061765>no there was no real internet culture in the 90'sThere was it just wasn't mainstream
We're officially halfway through the 2020s browsThe 2000s are getting further and further away
>>6062901I'm upset>t. 04bab that started the Internet browsing at 7 on XP so saw all the old YouTube shit and much more
>>6061860BBS culture was it's own thing that only barely carried into newgroups and stuff. It's not a part of anything anyone now means by 'internet culture'
>>60629012050 is now officially closer than 2000
>>6045473it's crazy to think that the "early 2000s" only lasted for about 7-8 years, yet this entire aesthetic is basically a culture. meanwhile modern times (2010-now) have lasted for 16 years but nothing at all cool has emerged in those 16 years. how is that possible? is it just that we have peaked and now it's diminishing returns until the end of times?
>>6062993>internet culture in the 90s is incomprehensible to me and different than today so it never existed Sigh. I miss when the internet was mostly white with some nips here and there.
>>6063704Technology and society upgraded every year. Literally every single year some new fancy toy or gadget was released. Internet got faster, cameras became higher quality, video games graphics improved, music was experimental. It felt like life kept progressing. Meanwhile it has stagnated since around 2013.
>>6045473>That pic of the kids playing the game at WalmartI fucking knew Walmart's ceiling used to be up way higher than it is in modern Walmarts. I knew it. Anyway, does this thread have enough suicidal ideation yet? Cause I'm gonna add to it... nothing will ever be this good again, and I just wish the world would explode.
>>6064213>suicidal ideationNot necessarily. I want to see a cultural revolution where mass amounts of non-Christian Europeans are killed or deported back to their shitholes. And the American political system nepotismically endorses white Christian values in media and society. That's the one thing all of these nostalgia threads fail to admit: the 90s and 2000s were the last decade to thrive off of pro-white Christian ideals. That is what you really miss.
>>6049884>vice city2002 is 90's now?if the video was titled something else it wouldn't be annoying but as it's called "days go by 90s edition" it's actually really fucking annoying and obnoxious
>>6052818>the shittiest system:>PS2i regret to inform you that you have brainaids.you'll probably survive and there are plenty of things out there for brainaids sufferers such as yourself to thoroughly enjoy - minecraft, netflix, buying stuff from amazon, the 10th re-re-re-release of skyrim, posting on plebbit and so on.

>>6050257Yeah, I thought she was cute too when I was a tweenLmao
>>6051710Classic. Lmao. I remember seeing these on TV as a kid
>>6058259>>6059193I've been thinking about this year as well.People say it's nostalgia but I'm not so sure. I didn't really experience the late 90s/early-mid 00s era since I'm a fucking zoomer but I still find it to be a lot more cool, soulful and exciting than it is today. Doesn't matter what it is - electronics, music, video games, movies, fashion... everything today just feels boring and bland compared to the past.
>>6050648no runescape?
>>6064887Funny how a few years later they came up with Win7, which was basically just an overhauled Vista, and people loved that
>>6050650My biggest takeaway from these threads is always that everything was so much nicer because there wasn't overwhelming rap/ghetto culture and a sea of brown.
>>6066674Okay? What the fuck is your fucking point you fucking retarded fucking idiot?"HURRRRR PEOPLE HATE BAD THING, THAT FUNNY, HURRRRRR THEN THING BE GOOD AND PEOPLE LIKE IT, HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!"
>>6067072Oh neat, I've never seen this version."For Great Justice, Take Off Every Zig"
>>6067055They really weren't all that differentThe reason Vista was so hated is because technologically illiterate office workers updated their machines that were built for XP and were now like 7 years old and they were shocked to find they couldn't run it properly, and from there people started to bandwagon
>>6063913Sauce to the Memphis music?
>>6058259You're absolutely right. The internet has basically made any type of monoculture impossible. There will likely never be something everyone can look back on and all remember fondly like 30+ people can. What Zoomers have is a ll unique to what they personally enjoyed growing up and not what the generation as a whole collectively enjoyed and remembered. Maybe Covid or Marvel Endgame, but that's it. Getting everyone to come together to enjoy a singular event or piece of entertainment is becoming impossible. The internet used to be a place you would go too, but now its a place were all at at every moment whether we want to be or not. Everyone is in their own little bubble thanks to very fine tuned algorithms for every person. Content is infinite, instantaneous, and unique to your tastes. You dont even need to go outside, or go to the movies, or really hangout with friends. You're not forced to interact in spaces you never cared for or were unsure about because you will never be in a situation where you're bored so you'll likely never stumble upon new or interesting. Shit sucks.
