Man this video brings back a very specific feeling.
The feeling of being halfway through summer vacation, still young enough to not have any responsibilities. It's hot as fuck, you're bored out of your mind because you already did everything you could think of, half the kids are on vacation elsewhere. You don't want to go back to school just yet but holy fuck you'd take anything to distract yourself. You walk around, rest in the shade while listening to cicadas and other summer sounds. Maybe you'll walk to the shitty public pool nearby that's made of concrete and was never properly finished so it's rough and kinda hurt.
>>
>>6052161
To me the 90s and the 2000s are one and the same, because it's the mid-90s to the mid-00s. Nu-metal and pop-punk and the techno goth aesthetic of wearing leather clothes with sunglasses indoors that wasn't started by The Matrix.

I don't really give a shit about early 90s even though that was my childhood with saturday morning cartoons a plenty and the golden age of pixelated graphics in video games and fuckin POGS like the other anon posted.

For zoomers, a 2000s nostalgia tread usually starts around 2007 - and it's all video games and youtube shit.

For me, the 2000s were all about going to punk concerts and metal bars and goth clubs. Even if I was shitposting on Newgrounds at the time and getting into torrenting and being extremely online, it's still not what I remember the 2000s as. Maybe Myspace and MSN messenger, but again those were only a means to an end (hooking up with emo and mallgoth girls)

same but I was like
OH BOY TIME TO LISTEN TO SLIPKNOT FEAT. MARYLIN MANSON.EXE I BET THIS SOUNDS GREAT

luckily this was when literally nothing of value was online or in the computer. banking was still done via the physical bank, taxes were done via physical mail, if your email got hacked or you forgot the password or whatever you would just a get new email no problem.

Now we live in a very convenient age where grandma loses all her life savings after she clicks on an AI video of babies dancing with dogs.

>it's the mid-90s to the mid-00s
Exactly what I always say. When people talk about the 90s, they're usually referring to the period of like 1996-2004. A lot of the pop culture was the same for about 10 year:, the same TV shows (Friends, Sopranos), the same celebrities (DiCaprio, Kobe), the music (boy bands, goth punk, gangsta rap) all started and carried on late into the 2000s. We still have public access TV on our local channels in like 2006. Internet access still required you to sit on your ass and connect.
>pic related - commercial from the 90s that aired everyday into the 2000s

>being extremely online, it's still not what I remember the 2000s as
You sound like me anon. I joke with people that I was terminally online before it was cool. Yet somehow all my 2000s memories are not "internet things" even though most of the content in these threads are memes. I had a social life...and then I made time to chat with baddies on MySpace, game with global buddies while chatting on MSN, contribute to one of a dozen independent forums I was part of. I had a gaming circle where we'd face off with PS2 competitions, then we'd all go home and live our own lives.

it was far away and we had to stop in these tiny spaces between.
just a gas station or some tiny lone diner with 360 degree flat horizon.
hot on the way there
cool with rain clouds rolling in on the way back.

stopping in a car at a train crossing, watching old rusty box cars or freight pass by on trains that seemed to go on forever.

No, core 90s/mid 90s was 1993-1997 (Power Rangers, Friends, Macarena, Space Jam, smooth jazz music). 1998-2001 was the Y2K era.

>>
>>6058593
>zoomer talk
No retard. There was no "Y2K era" back then. It was the 90s until it wasn't. Most of pop culture and celebrities transcended across the 90s to the mid 2000s. Nobody who talks about the 90s is referring to the fucking power rangers or 1993. Just like nobody is referring to Wrestlemania 17 as the 2000s even though it was 2001. It was a product of late 90s attitude era wrestling.

>>

Not necessarily. I want to see a cultural revolution where mass amounts of non-Christian Europeans are killed or deported back to their shitholes. And the American political system nepotismically endorses white Christian values in media and society. That's the one thing all of these nostalgia threads fail to admit: the 90s and 2000s were the last decade to thrive off of pro-white Christian ideals. That is what you really miss.

I've been thinking about this year as well.
People say it's nostalgia but I'm not so sure. I didn't really experience the late 90s/early-mid 00s era since I'm a fucking zoomer but I still find it to be a lot more cool, soulful and exciting than it is today. Doesn't matter what it is - electronics, music, video games, movies, fashion... everything today just feels boring and bland compared to the past.

Funny how a few years later they came up with Win7, which was basically just an overhauled Vista, and people loved that

My biggest takeaway from these threads is always that everything was so much nicer because there wasn't overwhelming rap/ghetto culture and a sea of brown.

They really weren't all that different
The reason Vista was so hated is because technologically illiterate office workers updated their machines that were built for XP and were now like 7 years old and they were shocked to find they couldn't run it properly, and from there people started to bandwagon

You're absolutely right. The internet has basically made any type of monoculture impossible. There will likely never be something everyone can look back on and all remember fondly like 30+ people can. What Zoomers have is a ll unique to what they personally enjoyed growing up and not what the generation as a whole collectively enjoyed and remembered. Maybe Covid or Marvel Endgame, but that's it.

Getting everyone to come together to enjoy a singular event or piece of entertainment is becoming impossible. The internet used to be a place you would go too, but now its a place were all at at every moment whether we want to be or not. Everyone is in their own little bubble thanks to very fine tuned algorithms for every person. Content is infinite, instantaneous, and unique to your tastes. You dont even need to go outside, or go to the movies, or really hangout with friends. You're not forced to interact in spaces you never cared for or were unsure about because you will never be in a situation where you're bored so you'll likely never stumble upon new or interesting. Shit sucks.

isn't it. the stars aligned for that edit.
i remember seeing clips (think it was on somethingawful) of that kid raging over the trolls back when it was happening and it's a perfect example of why kids shouldn't be allowed on the intartubes.
i bet he learned absolutely no lessons, it probably messed with his mind and he is probably, sadly, now a homo.

the interwebs is poison - yet we're all still here swimming around in an exponentially increasing ocean of shit looking for tiny rare gold nuggets of comedy.
such is life in this nightmare dystopia i suppose.

i remember when this came out on UK cartoon network.
took one look at the intro and thought "this is the ugliest piece of shit i have ever seen, possibly uglier than (((rugrats)))" and never watched any of it.
i'm glad to this day i have absolutely no idea whatsoever about that "show" except that it is aggressively revoltingly ugly to look at.
