After season two it gets massively worse, so stop at two.There are a few OVAs and printed comics which give backstories and context, but nowhere near as satisying (to me).

Basically universities teaching people to be mediocre. Not exactly new but still tragic. Also didn't help that hiring undoubtedly prioritized people with the right political opinions, which you'd get out of the places teaching you to make that slop. Imagine getting into animation after seeing the absolute masterpieces of animation from the last century that came from sources like WB and Disney, growing up watching shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Swat Kats, or getting to witness the golden ages of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network only to be forced to draw that trash.

>>6191638Personally I'd mark the real beginning of the beansploson as the release of shows like Chowder and Flapjack. Shows like The Regular Show, Gumball, and Gravity Falls also predate Steven Universe. The style really took off in the late 2010s years before Steven Universe released its first episode. Rather than being blatant fag flag propaganda right out the gate the style started with legitimate shows.
