hello /wsr/, im doing research into MPI and the MPI forum. i came across this presentation that seems to give a great overview of the standard: (https://indico.fysik.su.se/event/3395/contributions/4129/attachments/2205/2445/MPIHistory.pdf)
in slide 13 (also picrel), there is this line: "Early 90ties fruitful years for practical parallel computing
(funding for „grand challenge“ and „star wars“)"

im looking to find information referencing the need for practical parallel computing around this time period. thanxs :D
