Fix my fuckin bike, anons.

I started converting my 29" mtb to a single speed. 32:15 ratio. Thought I'd slap a chain on it, but I realized it was impossible to get it to be the right length.
So I'm using my old derailleur as a tensioner (only the top half of it, though)
But the problem is that the chain jumps once per revolution. Is this because the derailleur is aligned a tad wrong or if the chain is just fucked?

The back wheel can be moved forward and Backwards. Adjust until the Chain isnt as tight
>>
Also do Not Ride it If its too tight. Ive had chains snap and fuck my Bike Up
>>
Sure thing, just e-mail the bike to me and I'll send it to you back fixed

The derailleur in this orientation is not a functioning tensioner. Any tension it provides directly subtracts from the grip on the wheel sprocket. This arrangement will never work, no matter how good your chain and alignment are.

You don't know who you're messing with, pal.

This frame has "vertical dropouts" meaning the back wheal cant be moved at all.
This is what creates the issue.

U mean the chane must go through both cogs?
>>

OP here, I put the chain all the way through the derailleur. Chain stays in place but it makes a horrible scraping / rattling sound
It's probably because the chain is already too short to be used with a derailleur.
I'll take a pic soon

This setup got me to the store, but there's a grinding noise and when I pedal backwards the derailleur still jumps every now and then.

The grinding noise probably comes from the derailleur's chain guide. I could just take an angle grinder and reshape it?

lmao
