Seemingly well adjusted who occupy positions of authority falling into abusive relationships that aren't necessarily romantic. The initial fuckups that spiral are the main thing for me. These women make early mistakes in the name of either diffusing a difficult situation that demonstrate a lack of firm boundaries, self respect, or courage that lead the antagonists viewing them as a potential target. It could be something as simple as the woman making self depreciating jokes or telling embarrassing stories about herself to make a new coworker/employee feel at ease and the newb seizing on the jokes, or more precisely their underlying truths to bully her

Or it could be something more extreme like a female police officer disarming herself for the sake of appeasing a dangerous individual

The second key is that even after these initial fuckups give way to prolonged abuse the woman still has the power to end things but chooses not to.

The common theme here is a lack of self worth and excessive of empathy causing women to accept abuse despite initially favorable power dynamics.
Attempts at fighting back are generally feeble and mainly consist of trying to appeal to their abuser's better nature.
