Can I save this somehow? I have a reserve top screen, but I cant open the fucking thing because I cannot find that tripoint screwdriver anywhere online and every time I do, it somehow fails to get delivered. Heard that opening and working on it open is a pain in the ass too
>>1544877>Heard that opening and working on it open is a pain in the ass tooYes, working on the top screen is absurd. There's a flexible connector that spirals through the hinge, and if you breath on it wrong it will breakIf you already have the parts to fix your DS, find someone local who does console repairs
>>1544877>Can I save this somehow? It looks like the colors in the top screen are only inverted, so you might not have to replace the screen. Still, you're going to have to open it and reseat the ribbon cable connector. >I cant open the fucking thing because I cannot find that tripoint screwdriver anywhere online and every time I do, it somehow fails to get deliveredNothing can be done until you open it. You can get one of those cheap Nintendo repair kits online, they're sold almost everywhere. They come with a tripoint bit.https://www.etsy.com/listing/1190144795/brand-new-game-boy-repair-tool-set-video?gpla=1&gao=1&>Heard that opening and working on it open is a pain in the ass tooLots of delicate parts and thin wires. Be careful.
>>1544883So its just the ribbon? The screen I got from like alibaba or something is actually for a different DSL I have, where when you try to turn it the the bottom screen just flashes white and nothing hpapens. This one, just randomly goes from working ok to analogue horror mode, with inverted colors, greying and horizontal lines like an old crt. if its just the cable moved thatd be super, cause Id prefer to retain the original parts
>>1544883Ive also seen that a similar problem can be fixed on the DSi by adjusting the potentiometer. Can this be an issue too? Or is it not a thing on the Lite
>>1545330You shouldn't have to mess with the potentiometer since that controls contrast. Be careful if you decide to adjust it anyway. They're fragile and shouldn't be turned too much.
