To answer your question, I found the photo posted in one of the threads on this website. If I had to guess, the photo is probably a scan from one of the Sega magazines at the time. You can see that a number is attached in the left-hand corner, implying that there were other images on the page.

This will not be an easy task... you might probably need to look through scans of old Japanese magazines such as Mega Drive Fan, Beep! MegaDrive, Dengeki Mega Drive or Marukatsu Mega Drive
