yes i've had this problem for years, i only want to download one video every 6 months or so, so this is the easier option that wastes less of my time.
can't tell you how many times i have spent 8 hours trying to fix some bullshit computer issue only to find there is no fix, and my issue is totally unique and no one knows wtf is going on.

Oof, blocked is nasty. Pretty sure JD2 and yt-dlp are unlawful here in Canada, or at least they've been attempting to pass laws against bypassing captchas/site protections. I just don't want all the pop-ups and bullshit...
