I just bought the tcl qm6k 55in 4k 144hz tv. All the hdmi cables and ports specs I can find only do 4k 120hz. Which is still pretty great. I'm just curious if I'm missing something to get the full refresh rate or if the I'm being lied to. I'm plugging it into my rtx 3060 12gb over hdmi if that makes a difference.

I have an hdmi cable that states it's 48gbps. But the box only says 4k 120hz. But other cables online say 48gbps 4k144hz. Wouldn't they be the same cable if they are the same bandwidth? I'm thinking the amazon ones might be a scam. I couldn't find a cable above 48gbps at best buy.

If you hold down the settings button for 5 seconds it opens up a secret gaming menu not shown anywhere. That let's you enable 144hz mode and then you have to change the color depth in your gpu drivers from 12bpc to 10bpc. Then it works.
