yt-dlp can download a video without logging in.
It's the program that all youtube downloading apps are built around. But you can use it standalone.

To install: download the executables
>yt-dlp.exe
>deno.exe
And put them in a folder. Then open a command prompt in that folder and run
>yt-dlp YOUR_YOUTUBE_URL
This will download the video. You can play it using any media player.

Make sure you update yt-dlp regularly, by running
>yt-dlp -U
because YouTube changes its protection every few days and the devs change the program accordingly.

There are also media players that have yt-dlp integrated. I haven't researched it.

It used to not be able to, but then they fixed it again.
Always update yt-dlp to the newest version. Every few days.

The newest versions of yt-dlp require deno to be installed. They have a FAQ about it on their github.
This is to offload all the javascript to a dedicated program. The modern web runs on javascript, which sucks I know, it's just the way it is.
