Hello,For a course, we need to create a prototype for a water quality verification station. We are currently in the phase preceding the prototype, so we don't have a final idea yet.Our initial goal is for everyone to have a simple method to test water quality. We would just need someone to quickly answer the following questions:1) Who are you and where do you live? (E.g., student/professional, urban/rural area, house/apartment...)2) Is water a concern for you? (Yes/No, and why? Do you trust your tap water? Do you have pets? Do you water a garden?).3) If you could test the water quality, what would you look for? (E.g., Potability? Presence of pollutants? Quality for your plants or animals?)4) For you to use this tool, what should it be like? (E.g., Highly accurate, small and discreet, very inexpensive, connected to your phone, simple enough for anyone to use?)Thank you in advance for your answers.Sincerely,
My water was tested recently for "forever chemicals" and the usual lead, arsenic, pH.They gave us a box with instructions and glass bottles and the 3 samples we filled go back into the box and they picked it up the next day.I remember the samples had to be fresh and stay cold, because heat could cause stuff like chlorine and hydrocarbons to evaporate from the samples.1. Factory worker, rural area, duplex house.2. Yes, I want to know what I'm putting in me.I trust my water because it's a well on my own property, but we still test it every 2 or 3 years.(if it were tap water from a city I would NOT trust it to not be possibly contaminated with something)I have a cat and a dog and 2 gardens, they all deserve good water.3. Potability, make sure there's no heavy metals in it, make sure there's no, uhh, whatever it was that's in gasoline I can't remember what it was.I think pH is important because too high or too low will eat your pipes or coat it with iron.4. Good instructions is the most important thing; like I said at the beginning everything was in a box and the samples went back in and they took care of the rest.Personally I wouldn't want to have to scan a QR code and download an app or make an account for something like this.Sorry if nobody else replies, this is a very slow board.
