Hello, I would like to record something from my Computer to a VHS tape. From my research, I found out that my VCR only has a SCART input port and also that HDMI to SCART conversion is apparently either impossible or hard to pull off.All the online tutorials use AV, so I conjured up the set-up in pic related.Would this work? I can't into /g/ for shit, so I would appreciate your help.
Should work, why would you want to do that though?
>>1552260My buddy is a big James Cameron fan, last year for christmas I got him a VHS copy of Cameron's directorial debut "Piranha II" This year I want to get him Cameron's even earlier short "Xenogenesis", which was never officially released. He could of course just watch it on Youtube, but I thought this way it would have some novelty and something physical he can actually own.
>>1552248No because the composite to hdmi is one way.
>>1552295Not op, but what if this was in his picture.
get a composite av vhs recorder from amazon and just use a hdmi to av adapter. might be cheaper.
or burn a dvd on the computer and gift him a dvd player.
>>1552297OP here, that's what I meant sorry
>>1552248>HDMI to SCART conversion is apparently either impossible or hard to pull offThen why are hdmi to scart converters like 8 bucks and scart to hdmi converts like 16 bucks available in multiple versions from major online store world wide.
>>1552393They're readily available, but basically all of them seem to be very faulty, don't work at all or lead to less than desirable results.
