Is there a way to force alt+tab to only cycle between the last two active windows? Possibly by disabling this menu?
>>
why not just press alt+shift+tab

That's not at all what I'm trying to do. That cycles through all windows. I have several windows open, but only wish to cycle between two of them. If I press alt+tab, sometimes it goes to other windows besides the last two active ones (such as when arrow keys are held or by accidentally double pressing tab). I want to completely disable this behavior so it's forced to only go between the last two active windows.

Use an extension like recent tabs

What Windows is this? I'm on Windows 10 and when I alt+tab I go, say from Firefox to Windows Explorer and if I alt+tab on that window, I go back to Firefox. I also don't see the applications list like you and I don't remember how I changed this particular setting. Maybe try searching for "change alt tab appearance" or "behavior" on Google.

I reread your posts and it seems to me like you have your application list and you would like to cycle only between two apps. You know you can do something like alt+tab which will move forward one step and then alt+shift+tab to go back one step?

why don't you just not do either of those things

That's something you can change in the registry.

Is ALT+ESC what you're looking for?

How many windows do you have open? I mean like all 8 of them are full screen? If so, damn just drag the icons in the task bar right next to each other and select between the two if you really are focusing on two of them specifically or make it a happen of minimizing the others so they're out of the way.

Or create another desktop and drag only those two windows to it.
