on player issue football shirts there is this weird padding on the back of the neck, what exactly is this for?

from what I can tell, this is only present in shirts made by Adidas, no other manufacturer does this

now I know players wear a vest (it's a bra, don't be insecure about it dude) with a GPS for health and performance tracking, could this be related to it?

But again, only Adidas seems to do this
