The only 4:3 versions of Star Wars (1977) I can find online are horrible VHS rips, with Russian dubbing funnily enough. Is there a decent-quality English version somewhere in 4:3 aspect ratio?
>inb4 just watch the widescreen version in fullscreen
The 4:3 editions hand-crop each shot, plus Greedo's subtitles in the widescreen version get cut off in 4:3

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the answer to that is likely "no". The best quality theatrical-cut Star Wars was released on in 4:3 was laserdisc, which is not only cumbersome to capture, but when people were they were specifically capturing the widescreen versions. DVD bootlegs of the time, as far as I'm aware, also always used the widescreen laserdiscs as a source. The closest to what you're after is the '06 "GOUT" DVD bonus discs, which were 4:3 with letterboxing. What you're after is a pretty niche market.
