I'm looking for recommendations for an E-ink/E-paper reader that can handle manga well. Budget is $200 though I'd like to spend less than that if possible. And I'm fine with black and white

Do not get a 6" screen. 7" is bad enough for reading comics. Get the biggest screen you can. If I'm inside I'd usually rather read comics on a tablet than a tiny ereader screen.

Don't worry about the manufacturer's software, it all sucks. Get a good third party reader like KOreader.

Good, because the way colour screens are done they interfere with the monochrome function. Just like your monitor mixing rgb to make white and grey the colour filter used to make colour displays mixes colours to make grey even when you're reading a book in black & white. Contrast takes a severe hit.
