I know no big war is gonna happen, but what’s the best MREs to get and which have the longest shelf life? Also what are some good beef jerky, chili/meat in can, and drinks to get for these kinds of situations?

MREs expire after about 5-7 years but similarly don't really go bad unless stored improperly.>Also what are some good beef jerkymake it yourself, you can use the oven if you don't have a dehydrator. teriyaki is just onions + brown sugar so it's easy to make a marinade for it, can also add some cayenne/habenaro if you like spice.>chili/meat in canmost meat in a can is awful, salmon is tolerable if you don't mind the bones, canned ham is also pretty good. chicken and beef tends to be dry and gross. yellowstone chili is the best i've tried from a can.>and drinks to get for these kinds of situations?powdered milk, cacao, and dried coffee all last for an extremely long time. any of the electrolyte drink mixes that come in a powder will likely last forever if they don't get wet.
