Hypothetically, let's say my internet access is going to get cut off soon enough for a long time. What media/data would you suggest me to save? I got 10+ DVDs and 1 TB on an HDD. Some 100 GB SD cards. What are the best and longest JRPGs and VNs? Stuff that's heavily replayable, atmospheric, comforting. The greatest literature? The KJV Bible and The Recognitions and such, something similar. My computer's not the best so hopefully something not too demanding. Programs, software, and (hopefully more vanilla) doujinshi. Manga and anime. A particular series that has lots of fanart worth archiving from Gelbooru or Danbooru (mostly into paizuri). The EYNTKE torrent, The Ar/k/, the Do/k/ument, etc.
>>1559180Kiwix but that's for the apocalypse more than a long internet outage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KiwixYou can download all of Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg, etc. etc.I'm just getting into prepping myself so I wish I could say more. Btw OP, are you in Iran?
I liked osu, since it's got a long learning curve
Maybe some audio shows?I'm dabbling inOn a related note, maybe there are radio stations in your region that could deliver you new content.Maybe you could get an antenna and mooch off of tv signals or steal a distant person's wi-fi connection
>>1559548*I'm dabbling/occasionally listen to BBC "In our time" radio segments. They are alright.I enjoyed the "Connections" and "Civilisation" documentaries. You could get into philosophy. Start with the ancients and work your way up. A lot of words, a lot of them terse.Textbooks? I assume not but perhaps you are academically minded.Dunno what I could recommend game-wise. Maybe minecraft and one of those very long modpacks like gt:nhYou could dabble in programming or art
>>1559180Here are recommendation charts for many things https://mega.nz/folder/kj5hWI6J#0cyw0-ZdvZKOJW3fPI6RfQ Not sure if they fit the bill, but the Disgaea series has so much to do. I've a collection of 787 GBA games in Japanese that takes up 3,2GiB. Other emulators/collections are also a good idea, depending on your hardware. I've only read the science adventure series of VNs; they're great, but they're of medium length apparently.Greatest literature? My first pick would be Dostoevsky, but I'm not much of a reader. Here's a huge collection of LNs in Japanese https://nyaa.si/view/2082061 . I suppose you should get learning material for something you're interested in.Top 3 ero doujinshi artists: 敷島贋具, たまごろー, 大友卓二(たくじ). I'm not sure what to recommend on the manga and anime side; I suppose you should go with something lean since you have little space. Perhaps forego video entirely and focus on manga. If you can decode AV1 video in a satisfactory manner (try mpv), you can go for some of the AV1 releases. They're quite small and efficient, albeit usually still on the bitrate starved side.Definitely get something that can at the very least help you recover your system in case your OS fails. Perhaps devote one of the DVDs to a Linux distro that has as many programs as possible, so your PC is still usable. You can also image the OS drive.

>>1559180frieren, full series.everything you think may be useful from chadnet wiki.chadnet.org they cover all kinds of areas, survival may be important for you.works by thomas Aquinas, st Augustine, and if you are a new convert or learning more, the catechism of the council of trent - which is basically an instruction manual for Catholicism, there's a version called the penny catechism, this is a shorter modern one. try buying books made of real paper while you have internet access. reading is very therapeutic and atmospheric alone.i am willingly giving up my internet access soon for the rent of lent, i will only use it if totally necessary. i have a stack of books instead.some titles: spiritual exercises of st IgnatiusThomas aquinas' shorter summathe young man's guide by F X Lasance

If you have more stuff, come back and tell me, yeah?>Btw OP, are you in Iran? No, just an extremely paranoid Euro preparing for the worst case scenario, if Digital ID/age verification goes haywire. I should've been archiving things a long long time ago.>>1559547Not bad, yeah.>>1559548>>1559549>You could get into philosophy. Start with the ancients and work your way up. I should get all of those metaphysics encyclopedias... GT:NH is good but I'm not sure if it would run on a lame laptop.>>1559590Great mega.nz link! Where'd you get that? Haven't looked at all of it yet, but thank you. And yeah Disgaea is on my list, for sure. I could get a PSP/PS1/PS2 collection, yep, in regards to your mention of emulation, albeit a bit too much storage space required.>Greatest literature? My first pick would be Dostoevsky, but I'm not much of a reader./lit/'s sticky has great stuff, loads of charts, check it out yourself, anon. Reading and writing are nice. LN collection huh? I'll look into that.Ero doujinshi recs are great, much obliged. I know that this is /wsr/ and not /r/ but /r/ is awful and I wouldn't know where else to ask, maybe outside of 4chan only.Hm, I'll think about what manga to save, don't worry, as there's a lot. Regarding anime, I could get SEL and Ergo Proxy, Patlabor, and so on. Just wish there was a big pack or torrent with everything. Yeah also I'm burning several DVDs with Linux, and BSD. WinXP, Win7... I appreciate your reply. Tornware.net has a VN recommender, I might use that right now.>>1559631Nice. Thanks.>>1559770Of course.Sorry for replying late. Char limit
>>1559180>>1560196I am trying to do the same as you. I am worried about the ID thing and I have been saving images that I want to have around without internet. However, I have the problem that I have not much storage and also that just recently my pc crashed and I lost my 60 Gb library. Though I was able to get back 18 Gb of that.
>>1560197Good, good. Better safe than sorry. Western Europe is likely getting hit hard by this, no doubt, Balkaners and Easterners maybe a bit later. This might just be a complete nothingburger that'll backfire on the elites, or maybe it'll work perfectly and we'll all be totally screwed. Not gonna bet on it and just make offline, local copies of the things that I like.
>>1559180I'm also prepping for the data apocalypse. It's genuinely terrifying what might happen in a couple of years, its smart to prepare a big storage library.I plan on getting a laser printer to print out my favorite doujins/artists. Having something physical in case of a solar flare which can wipe out all drives scares me, so, a physical copies can be safest.I also recommend taking up a hobby, its pretty good since it is very time consuming and can essentially make whatever fanart I could need. So I got a bunch of how-to draw stuff from japanese guides and artbooks so I could improve. I draw, its actually pretty fun once the basics are learned. Reading books is also good time, I write as well so writing stories can be very relaxing. Not to mention they don't take up as much space as well.Hope it helps. I'm preparing too.
>>1560210>>1560205I am interested in these things:Books of any kind (specially philosophy, novels, science, and skills like combat)Pictures of women that I can use as inspo for drawings (mostly SFW)Drawings of anime-like charactersThe women part I use it because I like it. And also, I have been trying to get most of them for Pinterest. But it is looking bleak, and I need to find an alternative. I would like to know what things you guys could recommend as well. I am open to anything atp
>>1560210>It's genuinely terrifying what might happen in a couple of years>in case of a solar flareI'm not that paranoid, on such a particular level, but yeah I get it. Last chance will be to grab data and info from darknets until governments realize those are a thing and they'll censor them completely as well, I don't know. Meshnets will be a thing?Drawing is sweet, but I was never good at it. I'll try, I find it fascinating. Thanks for stopping by to the thread.>>1560211Sure, I'll see what I can do.Also, this is useful:>>1560129>>1560130Check out /r/DataHoarder too. I'll be downloading a Belko (NSFW) image set soon. This sucks ass because I have to rush things instead of taking it easy and downloading leisurely... My fault for being lax in these dire times.
>>1560222Thank you a lot. If we can continue helping each other, you can tell me where to get pictures of Lolita clothes (a japanese genre of clothing) I am particularly interested in Gothic and Militar, but it is hard to find away from Pinterest. For the drawing part:Buy a simple drawing tablet first, I don't know if you prefer with screen or without. With screen is easier to learn because of the pen-eyes synchronizity, but if you learn to draw with screenless you will be more "skilled."For the rest, watch a lot of videos on it. For the first stage, you should focus the most on practicing basic shapes like cubes and circles, since that's what makes most of drawing. Then you can move on to bigger things. (But you can practice as long as you have free time)Something I learn is that if you don't want to get stuck, you should always have beginner mentality of wanting to learn all the time. That way you will always have something at hand to improve at.
>>1559180Pic sauce?
>>1560235Lolita clothes, huh? Not sure. Pinterest isn't that great, I reckon. Used it just a little bit.>I don't know if you prefer with screen or without.I'd be okay with one without a screen, perhaps.>For the first stage, you should focus the most on practicing basic shapes like cubes and circles,Yep, I remember how it went.>Something I learn is that if you don't want to get stuck, you should always have beginner mentality of wanting to learn all the time.
