Can anyone help me trying to get this camera to run? Whenever I plug the power supply in to turn it on, the moment I flip the on switch, the ac adapter makes 1 click, than two clicks after about 3 seconds. The camera never powers on during this. Also, the light on the ac adapter goes dim imbetween the fist click and the two other clicks. I have no clue what this means. All I know is that after fiddling with it for a while, the module that is doing all the clicking is called a matsushita ds1v-s-dc12v, if this is helpful to anyone.
>>1560296The obvious problem is that the power supply has failed. That thing is going to be several decades old and it's very likely the capacitors in it have dried out. Standard practice when repairing old electronics like that is to replace every single cap since that's the most likely point of failure and even if some haven't failed, they're on their way.Since you probably don't want to do that the other thing to do is get a working power supply. You need to get the right size plug for the camera, make sure the centre or tip is positive or negative as required, the right voltage, and the right current. Read those off the power supply unit.Anything clicking is going to be a relay. The relay might be clicking abnormally like because it has itself failed, or because it can't latch to its proper on state because something else has failed, very likely dried out or blown capacitors. You can try buying a new relay and soldering it in place but just like replacing all the caps, it's a maybe fix because you don't know the problem.Solution: buy a new power supply that matches the specs of the standard power supply. Then hope that the camera itself is functional because it's probably full of caps as well.

The motor can turn on and spin but nothing will make the tape move if the belts are gone.Probably used grease on the cogs and that could have dried out too. If that's become like a dried glue that can stop the motor even spinning and destroy the motor when current passes through it.
