I became curious about where the Middle East levels in COD4 are supposed to take place. While wider satellite shots are easy to find due to geography, the close-ups are too challenging for me at least.Further, the close-ups aren't from where the wider shots depict. For example,'The Coup' is depicted at Al Qunfudhah, Saudi Arabia in the wide shot, but it is not Al Qunfudhah in the close-up.'The Bog' is similarly depicted at Al Qunfudhah, Saudi Arabia in the wide shot, but again is not in the close-up.'War Pig' is depicted around Mugharya', southwest of Riyadh in the wide shot, but not in the close-up.'Aftermath' is depicted in Susangerd, Iran in the wide shots, but not in the close-ups.Please only bother with this if you consider yourself a good geolocator or want to practice, since I acknowledge it will be a massive pain in the ass and arguably a time waster.1/9, 'The Coup'
