Developed enough to have a well-formed plot, comfy enough to have episodes with only minor family/friend interactions, main character is well-rounded enough to be a great protagonist, side characters all have independent arcs. Also the pinnacle of cel animation imo, every single frame of it is beautiful a la Ghibli

I would tell you Card Captor Sakura.But I watched that to cheer myself up when my cat was dying, and it ruined the entire show for me.Let me tell you, if you've never heard death throes before, it's a haunting experience. This cat loved me its entire life, but as its lungs, heart, and brain began to fail, it did everything in its power to try to claw and bite me before it wheezed its final breath. I buried it shortly after, and even googled "How long until death does a brain stop functioning" because the idea that my cat's final moments were actually me shoveling dirt on its face was too horrifying for me to deal with.Regardless, its final moments were probably me cradling it while it listened to Catch You Catch Me.
>>1561368I guess what I'm really trying to say is:If you choose a show, be sure you ask for something disposable instead of something happy. Because if the circumstances are traumatic enough, you run the risk of bringing back those emotions the next time you watch or think about it. I'm going to recommend you "Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto!"Just because it's a light silly show that people don't have a lot of attachment to.
