I want to know what kind of flashlight brand is from. For more context: this video is from Vagrant Holiday titled "For A Few Bushes More" at 8:15. This video was originally uploaded on June 2018 so it could be a great start for finding the exact model. I hope that flashlight is not generic no-name chinkshit.
>>1561537It's what you don't want it to be.I've owned two, one with a bright orange button, one with the same undersaturated orange button. The housing can be better or worse, have a zoom lens or varying quality, they can have just high and low beam or maybe have flash or SOS too, can be made as either AA or 18650 lithium models. That said, the only problem I had was that PCB where the positive end of the cell is only very thin coating of metal that wears out a little every time you turn it on to the point that it will fail after, for me it was after a two or three years before it wouldn't turn on at all. Coat this with a bit of solder when you first buy it and it will run fine for years.
>>1561575So it's just a generic AA flashlight? I kinda like how compact the flashkight is
>>1561577Yeah, it is a really good size and runs off a single cell. But the same size could also have a circuit board for 18650 like I said, that's normally a rechargeable lithium cell about the same size as AA, and a few years ago I think I saw some that were USB rechargeable only. I'd only get one that takes an easily available AA cell so I can buy a new cell if I'm out and it runs flat and I have no spare. It's a good size but do preemptively repair the PCB like I said and you may need to take care of the clip. It's thin sheet metal held on by two small screws, My first one snapped off and I hadn't even abused it.They also use a boost circuit because it takes a lot more than the 1.0 to1.5 V you get from a alkaline or NiMH cell to run a white LED. One of mine had a faint but audible hum that was louder when brighter, the vibration is the marker of an inexpensively designed or manufactured boost circuit but the light itself was fine.I prefer nowadays a similar size but with a row of LED down the side. You'll find them on basically every shopping website like ali and amazon and ebay. Narrower body, smooth case that wont catch on your clothes and wear out your belt. They're less than 10 bucks including shipping on a lot of websites, come in different colours now, but I suspect anything other than black will wear out faster than the plain black. The coloured ones are anodized coating rather which I expect would be thin but the black is paint and lasts for years.I wouldn't call them waterproof but I did drop one in a stream. It was submerged for like 10 or 20 seconds while I climbed off the bridge to get it. Didn't see any water ingress, but different makers might do a better or worse job and if I'd had the zoom lens extended maybe the water would have had an easier time.Like I said, less ten bucks with shipping, possibly get several for that since some sellers sell bundles, if that's not enough info to make up your mind you're massively overthinking things.
dunno what light that is but you could use a bike light as a flashlight
