I read a YA series in the early 2000's that I haven't been able to remember the name of, I was hoping someone here might know it. It was set on a world of bipedal cat people and the main character lived in a tribal village, before being told she had to become a warrior and head to the city because she had strong psychic powers (which only females have in this setting). A prominent scene featured her having her ovaries telekinetically crushed, being spayed, because lust makes the females weaker warriors. The big climatic battle was set in space, her standing atop a wooden glider plane with her assistants on the wings levitating it with their minds, as she has a psychic dual against her rival who was riding on a similar glider.
Based on the cover art, I have a feeling it was published in the 80's. Although it has some similarities, it's not the Star Ka'At or Warriors series.

Was it the Darkwar Trilogy by Glen Cook?

You're welcome. Honestly it was a lucky guess. I've never even read the books. I did a google search using several of your keywords.
