I am trying to find name of anime movie which feels to be from 80s or so. Basicly movie starts with some people finding something burried in desert and picking it up to take it for study and seems to be something not human made. if i recall either people start turning into monters and killing people or something of kind. it is not by any mean kids movie. i remember it showing blood, gore and such. I also remember at end of movie they go back to desert where they found this since someone is attracted to go there i think. and giant pyramid of sorts emerges which turns out to be spaceship and person who was being attracted to go there enters and crawls into it and flies off earth. i think they were also turning into monster or that their partner was so they decided to go with them into pyramid. i know its vague but any help is welcome.

Haven't watched it myself and it's not a 100% fit but could it be Green Legend Ran? It has deserts, monsters, and weird sci-fi.
gonna bump one last time in hope someone manages to give more suggestions. All i can remember that monsters were realy fleshy, it was rather unique art style and all mushy insides would come out when they were killed and eyes which would go wild spinning around when they get hurt. i think they had to kill baby alien monster too at one point
