Help get a mod to work on Ascension WoW No.1563481
I've asked /vg/, but I'd like to ask you too if you don't mind /wsr/:

I'd like to mod my game using this visual mod: https://www.wowmodding.net/files/file/372-leeviathans-hd-character-models/ But I can't seem to get it to work.

I've followed all the instructions: I'm using the WOTLK version of the file, changed the name of the file, copied and pasted it into the data folder, but when I launch the game the launcher deletes the file. I try to launch the game directly: it *doesn't* delete the file, I can confirm it's still in the folder, but then the visual mod just doesn't show up.

Please help/spoon feed me.

They have a lot of custom textures so most likely it's not compatible. Also from what I found the launcher is supposed to have an option to download their own HD texture pack. https://gamer-guides.com/wow-ascension/classic-and-modern-graphics/
Be careful before investing a lot of time time or any amount of money as TurtleWoW was recently shut down by Shitzzard (will go down on may 14th) and it might be used as a precedent to shut down other popular servers. They even tried to use RICO agaisnt TurtleWoW which is fucking crazy. Supposedly they even went after the people who made addons for TurtleWoW. We really don't hate Shitzzard enough.
There are single player repacks though and there was an old leaked source code of TurtleWoW but I'm not sure if anyone bothered modifying it to be fully playable solo like those repacks.

Somebody in the private wow /vg/ thread told me Ascension WoW specifically doesn't allow custom mods. I really, really, hope it's a misunderstanding, but the source is supposedly from the ERP community and I know they're experts in these kinds of things..
