what are some live action tv shows that are as fast paced and intense as action movies or anime? it seems like tv shows are always too slow and wordy for some reason

Do you have ADHD? I ask this because I have it too and when I was younger I struggled to watch movies because of that. I'm not sure if a movie of this description exists because the point of a slow beginning it to set the scene for the rest of the movie, but even now that I'm older and can watch these movies, I still don't watch movies often so I wouldn't know lol. I don’t know why I commented this since it doesn't help you at all but I was wondering if you had ADHD too. I hope you can find movies to enjoy someday.

jfc people really mindbroken just by zoomers existing, wanna call out your attention spam but couldn't even properly read your post

That's a mostly budget issue OP. Making action sequences for a 2 hour movie is one thing, making a 10+ hour long season full of action would be incredibly expensive.
I don't have much to recommend. The Player (2015) had a lot of action but it's only one season.
Grimm (2011) had a very strong first few seasons, but devolves into drama later on.
As anon above said, 24 is very fast paced.

There's always tokusatsu which is basically live action shonen anime. I used to watch Stargate a long time ago and it also felt pretty action-packed, most episodes had main characters constantly submachinegunning various aliens (the show even parodied itself for doing it so often). But western TV shows have 40-60min episodes so they will always be more drawn out than 20-min anime or tokusatsu episodes.

Not that anon but I kinda get his struggles. I can't watch Soviet movies that my family loves because they're just painfully slow. Same with older western movies, everything before 1980 for sure. There are some exceptions like Stalker that are just really atmospheric, but whenever a movie just has some generic scenery shot for 10 minutes (interrupted only by a character's pensive face every now and then) I often tune out and never tune back in.

Now that this prompted to go on my frequent Stargate nostalgia trip, here's a somewhat tongue-in-cheek AMV of what it feels like to watch the show (yep, the lead actor is the lead actor from MacGyver, an even older action-packed TV show)

Stargate helped me get through highschool, I love it.
