Does anyone know what the sample in the outro is? From around 3:08.https://youtu.be/fb1Eg1PJX5w?t=186Where its from and what are the instruments. Its used in 2 other song outros on this album. For some reason, the youtube titles for these songs helpfully tells you that it has a sample.I looked up the album booklet on https://musicbrainz.org and it didn't tell me.
https://songfinder.gg/ and https://aha-music.com just gave me the same song the sample was used in.
>>1564705End sample appears in Wings, alongside a traditional Serbian march tune titled "Mars na Drinu (March on Drina)".
I know that's not the one you're looking for. I just thought it would be neat to add.
According to Soulfly's fandom page the sample might come from "Wails" or "The Wails" by Asha Rabouin, a female singer who contributed to songs like Flyhigh, and Tree of Pain. No proof this song exists, and her Discogs page comes up empty. Not even sure this is factually correct, fandom isn't notable for being that and the way they worded it was a bit confusing; "The outro features sample of the wails by Asha Rabouin. " Whatever the fuck this means. That's all I've dug up for now. Hope you find your sample, anon.
for ease of reference Here's the timestamp of the sample in wings.https://youtu.be/UTkIa2IcsoE?t=310The other song on the album with that sample is Moses. Here's the timestamp where it startshttps://youtu.be/RLzPch80F-4?t=438The fandom wiki page also says it samples her wails for those other 2 songs:https://soulfly.fandom.com/wiki/Moseshttps://soulfly.fandom.com/wiki/Prophecy_(song)though obviously like you said the fandom page needs to be taken with a grain of salt (especially since it lacks a source). I could be wrong about this, but It doesn't really sound like wails to me. It sounds like a bowed instrument or maybe some kind of wind instrument.I wish the person writing the fandom article would have explained whether that's their guess or if they read it somewhere.
I'll note that the album liner notes don't credit Asha Rabouin for that stuff. They only say she sung lead vocals on "Wings" and backing Vocals on "I Believe". https://www.discogs.com/master/106016-Soulfly-Prophecyhttps://musicbrainz.org/release/7851aea6-b550-44ae-9a80-e4529138dfa7/cover-arthttps://musicbrainz.org/release/f39959dd-2961-45c5-91df-f8de614d3468/cover-artThe album liner notes say that keyboards and samples were used on the album (And that john gray played them).I wonder if it was some kind of stock sample or sound effect.
