Specifically looking for games that are either reward the player for employing the kind of tactics IRL nomads did or at least leans heavily into the vibe of asian steppe civilizations. My current go to games/mods are

>Rome 2 with Divide Et Impera
The battle system is shockingly good for horse archer armies given they were an afterthought in this game. but that somehow resulted in a very well balanced system where the player has to rely on historical tactics like false retreats to get the edge. In general the TW battle system is quite good, I enjoy the focus on positioning and morale. I haven't encountered anything close to it in terms of how it handles horse archers.
Downside for me as a nomad lover is that their campaigns play out the same as the other factions, you're stuck defending cities where all your money and soldiers come from and the mechanics are quite simple in general.

>TW attila
inverse of rome 2, better campaign but less balanced battles. When playing as nomads you can actually abandon settlements and migrate freely which is nice. Also the music/aesthetic is top notch.

>Mount and Blade Warband
It fulfills the fantasy of being a steppe warrior while having something of a strategic layer. Downside is horse archers are difficult to manage in battles which makes going full genghis difficult, at least in the large late game battles. And bows are weak as shit outside of the pendor mod .

Why not bannerlord since you already played warband?
In case you haven't played it, unlike warband the armies of each faction's balance is not as cut as warband where you can just spam swabian knights.
End-game, all mounted archers armies are actually viable and lore-friendly. In fact, mounted archer strategy is so chaotic that it's one of the only viable 1 unit type army.
The best all around unit is battanian fian archer but they'd still get wrecked and confused by khan's guard.
