Has anyone else had an issue where if you go to open up any file explorer window, like my PC or my documents or even just a folder you have created a shortcut for, it takes about 3 to 5 seconds for that window to actually pop up? I haven't really done much to my computer's software in the past month or so, outside of updating drivers and installing Windows updates. I'm not saying that the Windows updates has caused this, it's just about the only thing I can point to. I would say in the past two weeks or so I've noticed this happened. Since I have updated drivers and software, I have restarted my computer at least three to four different times, and this Windows lag has persisted even after reboots. Even after a full shutdown and power on. The only anti-spyware or anti anything that I have on my computer is malwarebytes, but I ran a couple thorough system scans and it's turned up nothing. Maybe there's other free anti adware or anti-spyware software that I can run check, but Malwarebytes are the only one that I have. Suggestions for any other free easy programs will be greatly appreciated.

Any thoughts though? Anybody else also experiencing this Windows lag starting around 2 or 3 weeks ago?

I had something like that ages ago when the PC was trying to verify network files that were available locally. Try restoring the default view in file explorer. Maybe use something like winhance to uninstall OneDrive and ai slop?

I get that and have always gotten that over multiple systems of different Ryzen builds but it was commonly only a thing that happens initially after opening that said application and then after opening it, it opened faster because it was loaded into memory?

I've always just accepted this about Windows and quit fucking with it because if it has something to do with one of the tweaks I did like disabling prefetch/superfetch or some shit like that, I'd rather just not waste my time trying to figure out exactly what tweak causes it.

This is what you get for using Win 11. It's UI is written in javascript. It's a known fucking mess and there is not a single fucking thing you can do about it except not use Win 11. Enjoy wasting your life using this complete abortion of a UI. Go over to /g/ and you'll see lots of posts about this shit except revert to Win 10 or earlier or move to the penguin.

I've never heard about it taking that long but a contributing factor could be the windows performance settings
Search for advanced system settings then go to performance settings
Turn off some of the animations. These apparently artificially add latency to improve user experience.
